When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

What did you love best about Control?

It's a clear, concise, fact based account of what the gun control battle is all about and indeed it is control but not of guns as many people think, but control of the people.

What other book might you compare Control to and why?

There isn't anything that I know of that compares.

Have you listened to any of Jeremy Lowell and Glenn Beck ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

If you could give Control a new subtitle, what would it be?

I wouldn't change it. It's perfect the way it is.

    Any additional comments?

This is a must read for everybody and should be on the top of every school reading list. It is a great history and civics lesson.

The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

Where does Pandora's Star rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Middle of the pack.

What other book might you compare Pandora's Star to and why?

It's like no other book I have either read or listened to.

Have you listened to any of John Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It's my first John Lee book but he does an excellent job.

    Any additional comments?

Some of the character development is unnecessarily long and adds little if anything to the overall plot and one of those subplots ends as a cliffhanger. What's that all about. It's worth listening to the end but it had it's moments where I wanted to bail out as it is very long.

Jonah and Katherine journey to 1918 with the Romanov children in the sixth tale of the New York Times best-selling The Missing series. It's a paradox: When Jonah and Katherine find themselves on a mission to return Alexei and Anastasia Romanov to history and then save them from the Russian Revolution, they are at a loss. Because, in their own time, the bones of Alexei and Anastasia have been positively identified through DNA testing. What hope do they have of saving Alexis and Anastasia's lives when the twenty-first century has proof of their deaths?

Jonah and Katherine are the stars of the series and my favorite characters. What one doesn't think of, the other does and they never think about themselves it's always about trying to help others.

A great addition to the Missing Kids series. Provides some history while entertaining in an always unpredictable way. Fun for kids and adults!

The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

Would you consider the audio edition of The House of Hades to be better than the print version?

I can't comment on how the audio book compares as I haven't read the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I just love the entire cast of characters, but Percy and Annabeth are my favorites because of the way they play off one another.

What about Nick Chamian’s performance did you like?

The reading of the book was OK. Nothing special. It would have been nice if the reader put more heart into it. At times it felt like he was just reading the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Frank's coming of age was great. There are two scenes where Frank takes charge and destroys armies. He is no longer someone to trifle with.

    Any additional comments?

This is great addition to the Percy Jackson saga. Totally unpredictable and fantastically creative. I can't wait until the next book comes out to see how they deal with Gia!!

Jamie Waterman has made an important discovery on Mars. A cliff dwelling reveals the fact that an intelligent race lived on the red planet 65 million years ago, only to be driven into extinction by the crash of a giant meteor. But now the exploration of Mars is itself under threat of extinction, as the ultraconservative New Morality movement gains control of the U.S. government and cuts off all funding for the Mars program.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Being I was in the car and a captive audience, yes. I was very interested to see what Jamie Waterman would be doing in this book and how things would progress on Mars.

What was most disappointing about Ben Bova’s story?

The politics! This book became very political which added nothing to the story but showed Ben Bova as being a total left wing looney.

Which character – as performed by Stefan Rudnicki – was your favorite?

I liked Jamie Waterman in the entire trilogy.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No. It would not make a good movie.

    Any additional comments?

The mars exploration in the book seemed more plausible then the politics. The politics was so far out there it seemed to be more science fiction then the main story. It was a veiled attempt to make the religious right look like a bunch of religious zealots and to show the devastation of man made global warming which is a total hoax.

Six years after the first manned Martian expedition, a second has been announced, this one motivated purely by its profitable potential. Half-Navajo geologist Jamie Waterman, a veteran of the first mission, feels his conflicted soul beckoning him back to the eerie, unforgiving planet. As commander of the new exploratory team, he will have to contend with a bitter and destructive rivalry, a disturbing new emotional attraction, and deadly, incomprehensible "accidents" that appear to be sabotage.

Where does Return to Mars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Middle of the pack. It was a fun continuation of the first book, Mars, but it ends kind of abruptly and there are some serious quality issues with the presentation. Any editing that was done is so painfully obvious.

What other book might you compare Return to Mars to and why?

Mars, the original book in this trilogy.

What three words best describe Stefan Rudnicki’s performance?

    Very good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The story was captivating and kept you wanting to listen but it started to get a little political which would push you away.

    Any additional comments?

Rudnicki's performance was great but the editing absolutely sucked making any editing very obvious and actually obnoxious. I can't ding Rudnicki for that.

The Monster Hunter series is just so much fun to listen to and the 4th installment is no exception. Great characters, great performance, riveting plot line. I'm glad I don't live in this world, or do I?

No, but he did a great job on this one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but it kept you interested in what was going to happen next.

    Any additional comments?

Ended kind of abruptly. I thought there was more the author could have done with the end of the book. There were so many plot lines left hanging.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. This is a highly entertaining book though more predictable than the previous Monster Hunter books. It is just a fun ride by someone with a wild imagination about a world I'm glad I don't live in, or do I?

What other book might you compare Monster Hunter Alpha to and why?

The Monster Hunter series stands by itself, but if you liked the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, you'll proabably love this series.

What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?

Oliver Wyman does a fantastic job with all the Monster Hunter books and this is no exception.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

If this doesn't make you laugh sometime and cry others, you might want to check for a pulse. It great to see the mighty Earl Harbinger get a love interest though it was somewhat disappointing that he was the only one from MHI in this book. I missed Owen, Julie and the rest of the MHI gang.

What made the experience of listening to Brothers, Rivals, Victors the most enjoyable?

It was great to hear about the European front of WW2 from the writing of some of our finest military leaders. You don't know how fragile the egos of these men really were until you hear it from their own writings. We tend to forget that as good a leaders they were, they were still human and human flaws and frailty.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The British finally being made to look like the disrespectful, glory hounds that they were. They always wanted to be in the position to receive the glory and tried to minimize the American involvement when if it wasn't for the Americans, Britain would have ceased to exist!
