Julia and Joe Ferraro are living the good life in Manhattan now that Joe's finally made it; he's the star of a hit TV show and has just been nominated for a Golden Globe award. After many lean years, they've got a grand Upper West Side apartment and an Amagansett beach house, and their two kids go to elite private schools. Even better, Julia and Joe are still madly in love. Or so Julia thinks.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I DOUBT IT. IT WAS ENTERTAINING TO A POINT BUT NOTHING REALLY HAPPENED. I FELT CHEATED.

Has Outtakes from a Marriage turned you off from other books in this genre?

I THINK THAT I DON'T LIKE BOOKS LIKE THIS ANYWAY SO IT MAY SLANT MY OPINION UNFAIRLY. BUT I DID NOT CARE MUCH FOR IT.

What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?

SHE WAS FINE. CLEAR CRISP VOICE. EASY TO LISTEN TO.

Could you see Outtakes from a Marriage being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

NO JUST THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON HERE.

It’s 1975, and Shaltiel Feigenberg - professional storyteller, writer and beloved husband - has been taken hostage: abducted from his home in Brooklyn, blindfolded, and tied to a chair in a dark basement. His captors, an Arab and an Italian, don’t explain why the innocent Shaltiel has been chosen, just that his life will be bartered for the freedom of three Palestinian prisoners. As his days of waiting commence, Shaltiel resorts to what he does best, telling stories - to himself and to the men who hold his fate in their hands.

Would you try another book from Elie Wiesel and Catherine Temerson (Translator) and/or Mark Bramhall?

    PROBABLY NOT.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

YES, DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION WOULD BE INTERESTING.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I HAD NO FAVE SCENE. THE BOOK WAS JUST OK.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

NO. NOT MY KIND OF SUBJECT ESPECIALLY FOR A MOVIE. IT WOULD BE A REAL LET DOWN UNLESS THEY ADDED MORE OF WHAT THE POLICE WERE DOING AND WHAT THE FAMILY WAS THINKING.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES. IT WAS A GOOD BOOK. I HAVE YET TO FIND A BOOK BY MORIARTY THAT I DON'T LIKE.

If you’ve listened to books by Liane Moriarty before, how does this one compare?

OF ALL I HAVE READ IT IS THE LOWEST ON THE SCALE. BUT I REALLY LOVED ALL HER OTHER BOOKS.

Have you listened to any of Heather Wilds’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I DON'T KNOW BUT I LIKED HER READING.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

THERE WAS A DUL THUD FOR ME IN THE END BUT OVERALL IT WAS STILL WORTH BUYING.

    Any additional comments?

FOR SOME REASON I FOUND MYSELF CONFUSING THE CHARACTERS IN THIS BOOK. I DON'T KNOW WHY. ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN.

Jodi Picoult delivers the riveting tale of one small town's entanglement with high-school violence.

New York Superior Court Judge Alex Cormier is assigned to preside over the case of the alleged Sterling High School shooter. Lawyer Jordan McAffee represents Peter, the boy who, on the day of the shooting, was found in the corner of the gymnasium holding a gun to his head with a shaky hand. Detective Patrick DuCharme has one star witness, but her story keeps changing. And then there's the biggest problem of all: the star witness happens to be Judge Cormier's daughter.

What did you love best about Nineteen Minutes?

JUST HOW FAR WILL KIDS GO TO EMBARRASS A STUDENT. A STUDENT THAT HAS BEEN KEPT DOWN ALL HIS LIFE. YET HIS SOLUTION WAS NOT A GOOD ONE.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nineteen Minutes?

WHEN I FOUND OUT THE TWO EVENTS THAT TRIGGERED THE WHOLE EVENT I THINK THE WHOLE SYSTEM OF PROTECTING BULLIED STUDENTS IS NOT WORKING WELL AT ALL.

    Which scene was your favorite?

NO FAVORITE SCENE BUT THE SCENE THAT I REMEMBER MOST IS THE SCENE IN THE CAFETERIA NEAR THE END. IT WAS PASSIVE A PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE EVENT I CONSIDERED COWARDLY AND ADULTS WERE NOT THERE DOING THEIR JOB TO PROTECT THE BULLIED KID.

Who was the most memorable character of Nineteen Minutes and why?

I THINK JOSSIE WAS. SHE WAS A FEELING KID BUT SHE WAS ALSO AFRAID OF HER STATUS IN HER PIER GROUP. SHE WAS LIKABLE.

    Any additional comments?

GOOD PORTRAYAL OF HOW BULLYING CAN CAUSE KIDS WHO HAVE NO DEFENSES AVAILABLE COULD REACT. KIDS BRAINS ARE NOT FULLY FORMED.

It's a summer's evening in Amsterdam, and two couples meet at a fashionable restaurant for dinner. Between mouthfuls of food and over the polite scrapings of cutlery, the conversation remains a gentle hum of polite discourse - the banality of work, the triviality of the holidays. But behind the empty words, terrible things need to be said, and with every forced smile and every new course, the knives are being sharpened. Each couple has a 15-year-old son. The two boys are united by their accountability for a single horrific act; an act that has triggered a police investigation and shattered the comfortable, insulated worlds of their families.

Jane says: "Dining at its most distubing"

What did you like best about The Dinner? What did you like least?

NOT MUCH. THE READER SOUNDS VERY SNOOTY, THE STORY DRAGGED, AND AFTER READING THIS I WONDERED JUST WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS BOOK?

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

IT WOULD HAVE DRAGGED LESS, MORE CONCENTRATION ON THE STORY AND LESS ON HOW MEALS ARE SERVED AND DESCRIBING EERY ITEM BEING EATEN.

What three words best describe Clive Mantle’s performance?

    STUFFY, CLEAR, WOODY

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

NOT UNLESS THEY VAMPED IT UP AN AWFUL LOT.

With a career, a boyfriend, and a loving family, Piper Kerman barely resembles the reckless young woman who delivered a suitcase of drug money 10 years ago. But that past has caught up with her. Convicted and sentenced to 15 months at the infamous federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, the well-heeled Smith College alumna is now inmate #11187-424 - one of the millions of women who disappear "down the rabbit hole" of the American penal system.

Would you listen to Orange is the New Black again? Why?

MAYBE. IT WAS NOT A BAD BOOK. BUT IT WAS TOO LONG FOR THE STORY.

What did you like best about this story?

IT WAS DIFFERENT. FOR ME ANYWAY.

Which character – as performed by Cassandra Campbell – was your favorite?

HAS TO BE PIPER OR POP. PIPER BECAUSE I KNEW HER BEST. POP SEEMED THE MOST INTERESTING THO.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

NOTHING I HOPE I WILL HAVE TO KNOW. I DON'T EXPECT TO BE BREAKING THE LAW ANYTIME SOON.

    Any additional comments?

IT IS A SERIES AND I HAVE NOT SEEN IT AS I WATCH NO TV TO SPEAK OF. I IMAGINE IT IS A GOOD SERIES.

For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife, Arlette, proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

Would you consider the audio edition of Full Dark, No Stars to be better than the print version?

I CAN'T READ ANYMORE. I ONLY HAVE READ THE AUDIO VERSION.

What other book might you compare Full Dark, No Stars to and why?

HARD TO SAY. IT WAS SEVERAL STORIES. THE FIRST STORY DID NOT APPEAL TO ME BUT THE OTHER ONES DID.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I LIKED THE SECOND STORY THE BEST.

If you could rename Full Dark, No Stars, what would you call it?

    BEST NOVELLAS BY KING.

    Any additional comments?

I BELIEVE THE SECOND NOVELLA COULD HAVE BEEN MADE INTO A FULL LENGTH BOOK. IT WOULD NOT DRAG. IT WAS VERY INTENSE.

Would you listen to Coma again? Why?

YES I WILL. I READ IT SEVERAL TIMES. I ENJOY THE STORY AS WELL AS THE MOVIE.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

    YES, HOW? THE TENSION.

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I DON'T KNOW. I HAVE READ OVER 200 BOOKS ON AUDIBLE.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

NO BUT IT IS ONE I WOULD LISTEN TO IN A FEW SITTINGS.

    Any additional comments?

THE TECHNICAL STUFF ONLY APPEALS TO DOCTORS AND NURSES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT AND DID NOT CARE FOR IT. BUT OVERALL, THE STORY WAS THE BEST ONE ROBIN COOK HAS WRITTEN. I AM GLAD AUDIBLE GOT THIS BOOK FINALLY!

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

SCOTT BRICK ALWAYS DOES A SUPERB JOB.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

WHEN I FOUND OUT GREG WAS DEAD IT SADDENED ME. BUT THERE WERE MANY OTHER MOMENTS. GREG WAS AN INNOCENT PERSON WHO JUST GOT CAUGHT UP IN SOMETHING BY CHANCE.

    Any additional comments?

I DON'T LIKE THE LOVE SCENES IN THIS BOOK. IT JUST DISTRACTED ME FROM THE STORY. I LIKE THE TENSION AND DON'T LIKE THE INTERRUPTION OF SOMEONE'S LOVE LIFE.

Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name.

GOOD JOB READING THE BOOK. ENJOYED THE READING.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

THE TENSE MOVEMENTS KEPT ME RIVETED.

WHY WRITE SUCH A GREAT BOOK WITH A FEW LAME PARTS THAT KIND OF RUINED THE BOOK AS A WHOLE. IT WAS NOT A WASTE OF TIME BUT I DOUBT I WOULD READ IT AGAIN EITHER.
