Mr. Limbaugh tells a good story in a fun way so that you don't even realize that you're learning history. I enjoyed it and so did my kids aged 6-16. I look forward to the next one.

Debt of Honor ends as Jack Ryan is confirmed vice president minutes before a mammoth act of terrorism kills the President, most of his cabinet, all but a few members of Congress, the entire Supreme Court and all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Suddenly Ryan is President, which is where Executive Orders begins.

Overall the story line is good and shows some very interesting development as Jack Ryan adjusts to his new life at the POTUS. The narration is maddening. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the likes of Lou Diamond Philips, Armand Schultz, and George Guidall, but this narration sounded more like the reading of a technical manual than a spy craft thriller.

Jack Ryan has only just moved back into the Oval Office when he is faced with a new international threat. An aborted coup in the People's Republic of China has left President Wei Zhen Lin with no choice but to agree with the expansionist policies of General Su Ke Quiang. They have declared the South China Sea a protectorate and are planning an invasion of Taiwan. The Ryan administration is determined to thwart China’s ambitions, but the stakes are dangerously high as a new breed of powerful Chinese anti-ship missiles endanger the US Navy's plans to protect the island.

The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead. Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list. Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him and why they want him out of the way.

Would you listen to Black List again? Why?

There are a lot of little nuances in the existing technology that you have to review in order to fully comprehend.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Scot Harvath of course...He is dedicated to his mission and his country and will stop at nothing to protect them.

Have you listened to any of Armand Schultz’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This one is on par with his other performances. Nicely delivered.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes

The first and most bizarre event nearly becomes a monumental catastrophe when something goes awry at an American theme park, wreaking havoc on visitors looking for nothing more than a sun-splashed holiday. In a different part of the country, a USAF F-15 pilot, escorting another jet in the skies over the Midwest, inexplicably loses control of his plane, endangering the lives of several people and deeply puzzling those following his mission on the ground.

What did you like best about Phantom? What did you like least?

Alex Hawke is ever the warrior but now with a new twist. He adjusts well into his new role and still gets the job done.

If you’ve listened to books by Ted Bell before, how does this one compare?

This is my first audio version of Ted Bell's Hawke series. It was performed very well.

    Any additional comments?

This latest offering wasn't as action packed as some of the prior books in my opinion. The final chapters were by far the best of the book.
