lots of loose ends. No intrigue. Instead of a mystery unfolding, the mystery had to be solved though pure description and explanation...amateur plot work.
narrator better than book
Disappointment and anger
insults the readers intelligence
It is easy to recognize this dystopia...not so different from the present. The quandary is what to do about it, This book brings you into a world where small community based groups have a plan, can make things happen...and they do not end up in some duel to the death. The beauty of this book is that it is not heavy handed. It feels real in its descriptions of the problems and inspires you to be one of the group that can see their way clear of the horror created by the powers that be. The trilogy is terrific and all should be read.
yes. I did not want to put it down but did not want for it to end, either.
it made me hopeful. It made me want to engage in the world and join with others to take the world back.
enthralling, complex, important
It reminds me of The Scotch Verdict or a non supernatural Carrie
have not but will
It made me appreciate the complexities of life and life choices and accidents and the way those choices shape the remainder of your life and your attitude toward it. The story weaves many different struggles together making this extremely rich.. I learned something...this is not a fluff mystery. It is a serious contribution to the genre. So glad I read it.
