It's just seven days before Memorial Day, and a spike in CIA intelligence has pointed to a major terrorist attack on the United States. Now it's up to counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp to pull out all the stops. Rapp immediately leaves for Afghanistan, where he leads a special forces unit on a daring commando raid across the border into a remote Pakistani village. Their target: an al-Qaeda stronghold. Rapp and his team soon discover plans for a catastrophic nuclear attack on Washington, DC.

This is another excellent and well written book by Vince Flynn. The pace is blistering. I could not stop listening until the book was done. I just slipped into the zone and enjoyed every moment. Great story line and I am afraid all too real. Highly recommended if you like the, Terrorists are coming to get us plots. This book does not disappoint. George Guidall is always excellent.

Wolfe's research missions to the jungles have earned him the nickname "the Indiana Jones of virus hunters," and here Wolfe takes listeners along on his groundbreaking and often dangerous research trips - to reveal the surprising origins of the most deadly diseases....

Enjoyed the book but it is just the first installment. Ended just when it was really getting good. Look forward to his next book. He is a good writer. The narrator is good but reads without too much variation of voice so it can be hard to follow if you are not paying full attention, like scrubbing you hands in an airport to keep from getting infected...

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

This is one of the best books I have read in years. The story is edge of you seat suspense, with a spy style love story mixed in. The writer worked for the CIA so it just doesn't get more realistic. Narration is excellent. This book left me racing back to the computer to see if Jason Matthews had other books. I could not believe this was his first. Destined to become a must read classic.

wherever James Lee Burke takes you, there you are. this book is a trip to the Alamo. The book is too short but every single minute of it is worth the read. The narration is fantastic. I think I have read almost all of Burke's stories and this one is a good yarn. His descriptions of the old west make you smell it and feel the grit in your teeth.

I really enjoyed the story. I recently read the stand by Stephen King. This is a similar end of the world tail except that the world is blown up instead of killed by a man made virus. the tales of survival are similar. Swan song is scarier. I couldn't stop listening to it practically finished all 34 hours without a break. The narration of this book is absolutely superb. if you're driving across country take this book with you and you'll be sure not to do any sightseeing or get out of the car.
