At the half way point the story really picked up. I almost gave up, but the Alex character had me hooked. Glad I stuck with it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gabe... but... This guy never seemed to shower or have any personal hygiene. There were references to opportunities to clear this up. By the end I was repelled by the character. ???

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No

    Any additional comments?

This was very difficult to get into. The narrator at times was completely monotone. I had hoped this was for effect; but nope. I like the story a lot however. A different narrator would make this a terrific listen.

Police lieutenant Joe "Dart" Dartelli made one critical mistake in his police career. Three years ago, he chose to ignore a piece of evidence in a suicide case - a suicide that may have possibly been a murder - because the dead man was himself a vicious woman-killer who more than deserved his fate. And the evidence that Dart ignored could have raised difficult questions about his former mentor, the brilliant forensic specialist Walter Zeller. But another suicide victim turns up - the body of a wife-beater - and Zeller has disappeared....

    This would be ranked 3rd

When Joe went into the dryer to hide as he did as a child.

    Any additional comments?

I will not purchase any book that Dick Hill narrates. Just too bad.

The beautiful bronzed body of Arlena Stuart lay face down on the beach. But strangely, there was no sun and Arlena was not sunbathing - she had been strangled.

Ever since Arlena's arrival the air had been thick with sexual tension. Each of the guests had a motive to kill her, including Arlena's new husband. But Hercule Poirot suspects that this apparent "crime of passion" conceals something much more evil.

Have you listened to any of David Suchet’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but he is great. Excellent job of change of voice as well as being able to put "personality" into the characters. Best I've listened to.

    Just an average job
