Shantaram is narrated by Lin, an escaped convict with a false passport who flees maximum-security prison in Australia for the teeming streets of a city where he can disappear. Accompanied by his guide and faithful friend Prabaker, the two enter Bombay's hidden society of beggars and gangsters, prostitutes and holy men, soldiers and actors, and Indians and exiles from other countries, who seek in this remarkable place what they cannot find elsewhere.

Mickey says: "Probably the best performance I've listened to."

If you could sum up Shantaram in three words, what would they be?

    Educational, cultural, inspiring.

What other book might you compare Shantaram to and why?

I never red other book like this one so far to compare.

What does Humphrey Bower bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr Humphrey is bringing life to the caricatures he narrates so well it feel like you know the characters in person.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I never cry but there are some parts watered my eyes, and there is always something to funny to laugh...
