Knit Two returns to the Manhattan knitting store Walker & Daughter five years after the death of the store's owner, Georgia Walker. Georgia's daughter Dakota is now an 18 year old freshman at NYU, running the knitting store part-time with the help of the members of the Friday Night Knitting Club. Drawn together by their love for Dakota and the sense of family the club provides, each knitter is struggling with new challenges.

I read the first book about the Friday Night Knitting Club and looked forward to hearing the sequel while I did my knitting. It was trite and predictable. My credit could have been better used. The narrator did a good job with the material, however.

In 1866 tragedy strikes at the exclusive Windfield School when a mysterious accident takes the life of a student. Among the student's circle of friends are Hugh Pilaster; Hugh's older cousin Edward, dissolute heir to the Pilaster banking fortune; and Micky Miranda, the handsome son of a brutal South American oligarchy. The death and its aftermath begin the spiraling circle of treachery that will span three decades and entwine many lives.

This book is a story of class, status, and family rivalries in late 19th Century England. The intrigue of a secret the boys from a boarding school share all their lives runs throughout. It was a real "page turner". Well done. The narrator was easy to understand and did a fairly good job of creating different voices for the characters. I would choose this narrator again.

Janet Evanovich is up to her usual standards of intrigue and hilarity. This is my first listen to Charlotte Hughes. I'll select this pair again when I need a light and fun listen. I do love Lorelei King's narration. I'd listen to her read the phone book if it were available. She has a real talent in making the characters come to life!
