What major discoveries made this transition possible? Who were the fascinating individuals responsible for those discoveries, and what qualities prepared each of them for their unique roles in medical history? These 12 compelling lectures draw on the lives of medicine's greatest contributors to tell the human story behind the development of Western scientific medicine.

For more than two centuries, the Supreme Court has exerted extraordinary influence over the way we live our daily lives. This series of 36 clear and insightful lectures - delivered by an award-winning teacher and widely respected authority on the Supreme Court - answers many questions about the Court as it traces the development of the Court from a body having little power or prestige to its current status as "the most powerful and prestigious judicial institution in the world."

Would you try another book from The Great Courses and/or Professor Peter Irons?

No this professor determines what is important historically based upon what he personally wants the court appearance to be to readers rather than just facts. He is way too opinionated to give a real history

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Most interesting was the first years of the courts history, least interesting is his opinion of the justices importance historically based purely in his politics.

What didn’t you like about Professor Peter Irons’s performance?

Spent too much time on least important history.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    It started well

    Any additional comments?

This guy should not be teaching law he is way too biased
