I've listened to Day's other audiobooks and enjoyed them so was eagerly awaiting this publication…. what a let down.
You know when you have to write a 2000 word essay so you you use 2 words when 1 will do and repeat points over and over again ad nauseam? That's what this is like. Day repeats a character's motivation or reasoning so many times its' horrifically annoying.
The sex was ok but felt manufactured and formulaic.
The narrator seemed to be on auto pilot with a sing song voice that didn't build any tension or atmosphere.
Stick to Day's other books.
…this wasn't much about The Doctor, more his companion.
Only about 25% actually had Matt Smith as narrator. Whilst the other narrator was good, that's not why i bought the book.
this was lame in in the extreme.
Slave girl gets bought by a good guy, no sex.
pretty much it really
I am by no means a young adult but nonetheless look forward to John's book releases immensely. Sensitive and smart dialog, characters that MAKE you love them and plots that leave you sleep deprived.
This is no exception just a fantastic funny & poignant read that everyone will love and could raise interesting talking points for parents with teens.
Narration was beautifully balanced - could not fault it and am already on the look out for other titles read by Kate Rudd.
Plus John Green is really cool and kind of the flagpole around which us geeks gather and salute.
