I grew up in Massachusetts, and the guy who read this book needs a quick lesson. Route 128 is pronounced like "root" not like "rowte", and the "a" Natick is pronounced like in "ate" not like "at".
It is a wonderfully fun book and a great reading in general, but when you get to these words and mess them up so thoroughly, especially in a book which centres on the city, it ruins the experience for me.
We get to hear Siobhan Clark as a woman for the first time! so nice
This is the first Rebus novel, his orgin story, telling about his time in the SAS and it sets him up for all the other novels and pre Siobhan Clark
The narrator is English, which should have disqualified him. it is painful to listen to his attempts at a Scottish accent and his female voices are particularly unsettling.
