I am a big Bill Maher fan and I'm glad that I read this book. Yet - when someone is just doing their stand up act on paper - it that a book? While I love watching him on Real Time, he doesn't pack the same punch in this format. He's still funny and smart, but his comments somehow seem out of context without hte back drop of hte show. PS. don't his writers create "New Rules" anyway? Why doens't his writing staff get a credit here?
I know that a lot of people have been upset by what is written in this book, but I could not put it down! deborah speaks boldly of her experiences in the community and i can offer her nothing but praise. She uplifts and inspires! I am not jewish, but i left mu fundamentalist religious community in my early 20's. I totally related to her struggle. I could not put this book down!
the story is ok. The narration by Sam Jackson makes this a MUST LISTEN!!!!!
He was just as entertaining here. The story was kind of all over the place, but in the end i could got stop listening. Now I see psychopath's everywhere! After the slow start - totally fun read!
I got this book for free when I visited The View. I paid for this audiobook and i'm glad I did. I can't imagine not hearing this read by Rob himself. It was a sheer joy!
This book follows the same formula as all of the other SW books i've read. If you're a SW fan, you'll like this book. It's nothing new. Comfortable and fun! loved it!
I was already a Jen weiner fan. She and Jen landcaster are girlfriends in my head. This book was classic JW and I loved every moment of it. I also love how her books have a ripped from the headline feel. I caught the Dan Savage reference. I remember the lady on some talk show who spoke about being a surrogate only to discover that the couple changed their mind, got divorced and dumped the baby. The story feels so real. it has heart and soul. Well done Jen. well done.
This book should be purchased along with it's sequel "Certain Girls". Good in Bed remains my favorite JW work and i've read them all. I AM Canny . THis book touched my heart!
After I read John Grisham's "The Broker" I decided that I wanted to learn a language. This book was a great first step. It was so fun that even my kids joined in.
