educational,compelling,and awe inspiring scary.
that it is based on real, true cases
no, first time listen to anything by Todd
oh yes, warning to all, this is not even close to a "light listen". this is serious stuff, I mean the events that take place in this book will leave you beyond uneasy. if you scare easy or you are not in a good place right now, DO NOT GET THIS AUDIO BOOK! I know you have heard this before, macho b.s. but I don't scare easy. this stuff will get to you.
ok, I have done my duty. this is my only review. it is because I truly felt it was important to give folks a warning. don't get me wrong its a great listen, I gave it the 5 star treatment. just wanted to throw that in, incase someone misunderstood my point.
Ed and Lorraine Warren are to be appreciated and respected. Who could do this stuff with their life and do it so selfless. being more aware than just about anyone at the risk. thank God for his special troopers.
Top 25 out of several thousand.
The educational moments of the protagonist.
Dramatic baratone voice.
The whole story was intriguing.
I am constantly complaining of the choices audible makes when new releases come out. A lot of times, it becomes obvious my taste differs from the average reader/listener. I typically agree with the obvious stuff,( i.e."song of ice and fire"), etc. Then, there are book ratings I don't get at all,(i.e." Lies of Locke Lamora"). This book is not reflected fairly in the ratings it has recieved. It should be a solid 4 stars on anyone's rank. I chose 5 stars for the hidden gem aspect. With all that said, check my ratings and see if you agree with most of my choices and grab this title.
Of course, I think it is a unique and refreshing fantasy series. I ran across the first book in the series by accident and couldn't stop grinning at my rare find. It is just cool and badass!
Love them all.
Dave is right on and I find him to be one of the best.
Made me happy ;that for once when I tried an unknown, I hit the mark.
Read it and spread the word!
I am struggling to finish. So much going on and nothing!
When I saw werewolves and good ratings I was excited. I am so sick of zombie crap. Then it just falls flat. Lame. Why is it so difficult for authors to write a good werewolf novel?
Like the book just flat.
I hope not!
That is impossible to choose. Martin can make a character mentioned in one sentence interesting.
Everything! He was born to narrate this series.
Yes,although physically impossible.
The only con about this series is, you will compare every other fantasy novel to "songs of ice and fire" and realize you will never find anything close. It really deserves its own category because it is not fair to other authors. I really doubt there will ever be anything written to top this series.
This series rules
Maybe a combo of "game of thrones" and "warded man".
Like all good narrators,he makes the audiobook a movie in your mind.
The entire story hit the mark.
If you love epic fantasy, then this series is a no brainer! If anyone does not like this series, then they have no buisiness buying a epic fantasy novel.
Cover art is about all I can say that I like about this book.
Boring! Just goes on and on with nothing to engage. It is a y.a. story that audible placed in adult genre to fill in gaps. They do this often.
Lack of action! Boring lame characters.
His reading was good but too mature for this story.
No,not for me. Others rate it high ,so maybe it's just my taste. Sometimes it happens,a book will be a favorite of many and I just don't see it.
Don't be fooled by cool cover art! "Don't judge book by cover" , will I ever learn?
Could not finish, due to pathetic narration.
Simply put,ridicules cartoon voices.
Overdone in a lot of ways. The main premise of book could have been done right and it would have made for a unique religious fueled horror.
Audible continues to disappoint for those who enjoy good horror/paranormal fantasy. The only choices are female themed romance, gay or just bad!
