wonderfully entertaining to read...but sadly too much so in parts as the author is sometimes too liberal with his narrative. There are some definite fictions interspersed to make for a better story but that did not actually happen.
Well.. I had high hopes for this! Have listened to many fantasy type books and this was 1 of the more disappointing! Just plain dull. Took too long to get to what I guess will be the biggest part of the series :the strange people that aren't really people any more.
Well.. MR king can't hit a home run every time! Haven't quite finished yet.. But wish I had! Dullest book from him I've read /listened to!
hard to imagine a stephen king audible with some one other than Will Patton doing the reading!!! Thoroughly enjoyable!!!!
as bad as the rehashing of hunger games is (like how is this author not being sued???) the "performance" of the reader is awful.
Excellent perspective on Chicago in this era...not just the brothel but in general Chicago at this time
They spent too much on agonizing details and periphery subplots
yes!! I won't be buying the next in the series! I hear it is even worse with boring subplots, etc
As an avid gamer and born in 1963...much of this book was delightfully appropriate. Not sure non-gamers and/or very different age groups would appreciate it as much as I did.
The author is all over the place in a seemingly random manner both in time and in place. There is much discussion of art and such that has nothing to do with the subject matter. Almost none of the book is actually devoted to what was actually the scene in 1491
