And he might not have, if a mysterious jade box containing a stainless steel glasscutter had not arrived at his villa. The glasscutter has powerful meaning for only a select few people high up inside the American intelligence establishment.

Patrick Davis is a man with troubles. First his Hollywood dreams crumble, then his storybook marriage hits a snag. Finally, DVDs start being delivered to his house – DVDs which show that someone is watching him and his wife, that the two of them are being stalked and recorded by cameras hidden around and within their house. Then the e-mails start, and someone offers to fix everything, to take the mess his life has become and make it all right. Patrick figures it's the offer of a lifetime.

Would you try another book from Gregg Hurwitz and/or Scott Brick?

    Hurwittz no.Brick yes.

    Any additional comments?

I listened up to to chapter 10 and couldn't take the overblown romantic sentiment any longer.. This book is dripping with exagerated sentiment in an attempt to be dramatic.

Polar shift: It is the name for a phenomenon that may have occurred many times in the past. At the very least, it disorients birds and animals and damages electrical equipment. At its worst, it causes massive eruptions, earthquakes, and climatic changes. At its very worst, it would mean the obliteration of all living matter, and if that happens - exit Earth. Sixty years ago, aHungarian genius discovered how to artificially trigger such a shift, but then his work was lost. Or so it was thought....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have listened and read most of Cusslers novels and found them to be exciting and entertaining. However herds of dwarf Mammoths in an underground city is beyond my imagination.Too much dialogue and ridicuolous circumstances make it a zero.Great narrator. The plot might entertain a 10 yr old.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    The narrarator is great.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The plot is for 10 year olds.
