This modern morality tale by gifted writer and speaker Andy Andrews teaches seven fundamental strategies for creating a successful life. Much like the best-selling books by Og Mandino, this unique narrative is a blend of entertaining fiction, allegory, and inspiration. Storyteller Andy Andrews gives a front-row seat for one man's journey of a lifetime. David Ponder has lost his job and the will to live.

The power of the story and character that really connected with my struggles and aspirations.

Have you listened to any of Andy Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I subscribe to his podcast but that has no where near the focus and production value of this book.

    David Ponder - main character

    Any additional comments?

Andy does a great job with the voices, tempo and passion of the story.

    Story
What made the experience of listening to Never Go Back the most enjoyable?

Henry Cloud writes books that change lives and this one is full of solid steps and illustrations that take the concepts and help make them a reality. This book integrates spiritual, psychological, business and personal living in a way that is seamless.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Never Go Back?

The stories are all very helpful in making all the points stand out.

What does Michael Prichard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is very professional and precise in his reading. I think listening kept me from skimming and his voice is slow which slowed me down.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I would have had information overload.

    Any additional comments?

I think the contractions in this book were a bit distracting in read form. It seemed too formal and since I've heard Dr. Cloud speak many times, it just didn't capture the tone of his personal speaking.

TED talks have redefined the elements of a successful presentation and become the gold standard for public speaking around the world. TED and associated Tedx conferences are held in more than 130 countries and are being viewed at a rate of 1.5 million times a day. These are presentations that set the world on fire, and the techniques that top TED speakers use are the same ones that will make any presentation more dynamic, fire up any team, and give anyone the confidence to overcome their fear of public speaking.

    Story
If you could sum up Talk Like TED in three words, what would they be?

    Heart, experience, connect

What was one of the most memorable moments of Talk Like TED?

The chapter on connecting with senses. It really showed how visual whether using slides or a mental picture can really take people to a place of action and memory.

What does Carmine Gallo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He really is all about helping with presentations and does his best to make his voice and those of the "quotes" to seem authentic and memorable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Everyone can speak but few want to work at it.

    Any additional comments?

This book would probably be better in a video where you could watch the talks rather than refer to them. It was helpful and would have gotten higher stars if the quotes didn't sound so strange from a new but not authentic voice. Also, it seemed a bit redundant in parts.
