I enjoyed these stories when I read the book, but the voices of the readers irritated me so much, I couldn't enjoy them while listening. These were not the sort of tales that need an overly sweet voice. They are risque and need a smoke and whiskey huskiness.
love, love, love sandra brown's later books and this is one of the best. I figured out who the bookkeeper was in the middle, but by the time he was revealed I'd forgotten all about it, the action had me so shook up.
I read the book when it first came out and loved it. Joanna Bourne is a very gifted writer and prose-master. But the thing that makes this book such a delight to listen to is the narration. Kirsten Potter does a fabulous job with the French names and prose. She has done justice to this outstanding work of fiction.
