I really enjoyed this listen- full of info but not too dry.
Not your usual vampire fiction... Elaborate, imaginative and captivating read if you are in the mood for a serial killer thriller with complex characters and supernatural twists for good measure. Kate Mulgrew is a fantastic narrator!
A shocking expose that's not only fascinating, but very well researched. This book really leaves you wondering how Scientology can survive, now that the church's dark side has been revealed. The more members that leave (escape), the more disturbing information comes to light.
I am a HUGE fan of Jen's from her apprearances on Chelsea Lately and After Lately on E!
Her new book was a great listen and especially refreshing as she riffs a LOT on being childless (and happy!) Her raw honesty was refreshing and hilarious. I could totally relate and I'm glad someone finally wrote on the topic. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should :)
This has been one of my favorite audible selections so far this year... she tells it like it is in her wacky one of kind perspective that made her blog so popular.
When she talks about her social anxiety, its candid and hilarious.
Highly recommend it. She has a knack for getting into ridiculous situations on a day to day basis and sharing it in her very unique voice. This book makes you smile, snort with laughter and remember that we're all a hot mess occasionally.
Some explanation and exposition. I had to re-listen to sections based on british slang or british intelligency agency jargon. I've listened to hundreds of thrillers, some very complex and politcal but this one was a tough listen. I gave up about 5 hrs into the book. I saw the movie hoping that some of the vague aspects would be clarified but the movie wasn't that easy to follow either. I think you either get this kind of Le Carre novel or you don't. If you're looking for an easy intriguing listen, this is NOT it.
Was going to be 50 Shades of Gray but due to reviews blasting the narration will probably go with lighter fare- maybe "Guts"
Less british spy jargon or at least a little explanation here and there on some of the story's characters, "circus" terminology, etc.
Disappointed. I knew there was a cool story there but just too much effort to figure out what was going on chapter to chapter based on the narration/heavy brit accent.
interesting departure from usual best seller reads, with super animated narration.
This was a great read for anywone who likes murder mysteries but is a little burnt out on them... This has some dark subject matter but keeps it light with a brilliant, sarcastic wit. The actor doing the reading is PERFECT for this type of thing.
I really got hooked into this and I am not into magic and illusion in the slightest. Well written and keeps you wondering until the very end.
This was a complicated story of love throughout the ages that takes the romantic novel to a new level.
