I liked hearing about the characters in a new plot.
but there were dropped threads and shoddy attention to detail. The duo need to hone their partnership style.
The style should improve. The first Dick Francis/Felix Francis novel was not as good as usual too.
Yes, it was good but not great.
From Manfred's previous appearances in the Harper Connolly series, I expected more depth to his character. He was so psychic before, now he is portrayed as a hustler without any any glimpse of the gift that we know he has. Try again Charlaine, or develop Manfred the way he deserves to be shown.
I enjoyed seeing life from both points of view. While Officer Luz had many good observations, Bridget kept us apprised of the true prospective.
Yeah, what is Bridget going to do next in her training of Officer Luz.
I just kept smiling
Yes, I enjoyed the tale.
When they rescue Connor and his sister and bring them back. I was worried about how it the author would find a way to give us a happy ending.
The whispers and high pitch of some voices made it difficult to understand all the conversations. When the narrator lowers the volume for whisper or the frequency of her voice to a high pitch it is not understandable at a volume that is comfortable for normal listening.
Evening the conversational volume.
There are three brothers who now work with Connor, Tell me about their adventures. Plus I would like a meeting between Connor and Richard. More stories please, with or without the faery connection.
Plot is predictable and is only made worse by the smirky tone of the reader. He is either smirking because he is getting paid to read this rubbish or he is hamming it up.
Kept it to herself - put some interesting occurences in the story line.
Female and male leads
Like the ship board activity, the aura of 1930's glamour was fun
She is Georgie.
Yes - Nice combination of believable characters, history and interesting plot. Doesn't fit the trite formula usually encountered in this sort of books. This book is a light, amusing romp. Nothing great or earthshaking, just fun.
premise of a pretend engagement and that the heroine was neither missish no slutty..
His voice was pleasant and my hands were free to do other things,
no, I just let the pleasure of its company roll over me.
Parts of it were very good, but this author managed to make the sex boring - note to author, we have good imaginations, no need to be so graphic.
Tie up the loose ends with your action sequences. Develop your plots better, flesh out the characters. They seem to be a bit one dimensional. There is no need to make everyone rich because you are too lazy to build a real life for them.
smooth as cream
Yep, write something.
I look forward to book three in the series, but you have the imagination to do better than Book 2. Book 1 of the series is an example of that.
Dick Hill, Yes! Griffin and/or Butterworth never again. They must have used cut and paste from previous novels to write most of the book. What remained of the plot was disorganized and uninteresting. This book was probably written in a weekend and that was a waste of time.
The lack of cohesion.
It was ok. Dick Hill is used for procedurals because he sounds like reading an after action report. He was probably bored to tears by the book just like the rest of us.
This should be the last of the series for the authors. It was the last of a series for me as a reader. I am going to call my library and warn them if they haven't ordered it, don't waster their money.
SOmeone who has never enjoyed a Dallas book.
Absolutely - this was an aberation.
Susan Erikson is the voice of the In Death series.
all of it.
