The description should have clearly stated that this was not a traditional love story. Our heroine who was misused by her first husband ended up having to share her second husband with two wives.
I felt so bad for the second wife who wanted her husbands love and would never get it, instead she got to spend two nights out of every month in her husbands bed and had to learn to be content. I would be raving mad!! No wonder there can be such jealousy and even murder in those situations. Although in this story the three wives were apparently happy as clams by the end of the story.
She had a great voice, clear without being annoying. She delivered the story at a good pace as well.
I was completely discontented with this story. I would have been so much happier with a story supporting a monogamous relationship. I feel tricked. This is a 13 hour story I spent money on. I wanted a happy ending!
Honestly, they had to know marketing this book that it was different from traditional romance stories. Most women of mainstream society don't like the idea of sharing their husbands. I don't like the idea of multiple wives. I hope the creators of this book consider changing their description of this book, while they didn't lie in their description it definitely wasn't accurate; nobody expects a deviation from the norm to this degree.
This series is what alpha and omega should have been. the second of the Mercy Thompson series I have listened to and it was just as entertaining as the first. I'm really liking this series and the narrator.
Story was pretty good and the narrator did a better job than she did in previous book "In the company of vampires"
Angela Dawe really brought the story to life, I don't think I would have liked the male lead half as much if it weren't for Angela's swarthy male character voice
Roberts may change her characters but for me the feeling of the book never changes.
Previous reviews have warned that the tone of this story was kind of childish. They were right. I purchased this story because the overall rating of this book was pretty high. After reading several books in this series and liking them I decided to try this out and have come to the conclu
This one was great without being too mushy. I have read a couple of this authors books in the past and they were pretty ok so I think I'll try another blue hearing story in the near future.
a light romance with a little suspense this was typical Nora Roberts book. I like her romances because they always have the same elements--man falls in love, protects woman, lives happily ever after. the characters and settings change in each book giving me enough variety to be satisfied. I don't consider myself picky when it comes to narrators but I don't like being stuck listing to one who annoys me. this one was okay, her voice was smooth and predictable even if the narration wasn't spectacular.
it was just as fun listening to this romantic comedy the second time as the first time. the narrator was great, matching the tone of the story with a clear fast pace speak.
this one started off slow. I was wary of a story that centered around a dog because I was afraid it would get too mushy but Koontz seems to know his subject well and the book was just as suspenseful as others I've read from him. there were no surprise twists in Watchers just a good plot and we'll written scenes.
this last book didn't contain as much of the quirky humor Harper's previous books had but nonetheless listening to this book was a good way to pass the time.
when I bought this book several months ago I got bored and stopped listening after the first chapter. I'm glad I picked it back up again because this time I liked it. it had some unexpected twists in the story plot, characters i can relate to, some tragedy, a little love and a happy ending.
