My name is Shaun McCarron, not Alphone.. LOL. I am just a guy who wants to know the whole story, and live a life that completes myself and the plan of which I am a part of.

  • Occult America: The Secret History of How Mysticism Shaped Our Nation

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 45 mins)
    • By Mitch Horowitz
    • Narrated By Paul Michael Garcia
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Mitch Horowitz presents a meticulously researched, compulsively readable history of the mystical and spiritual experience in our country. Focusing on the impact that the 19-century movements of Freemasonry, Spiritualism, and transcendentalism have had on America, Horowitz portrays a colorful cast of characters as he explains the origins of the Ouija board, the political influence of Spiritualism on the Senate, and the source of the mysterious slogan on the back of the dollar bill.

Ray says: "Exploring America's spiritualist roots"
"Good for those just starting to ask questions.."
Where does Occult America rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I can not say it is one of my favorites or top titles that impacted me. It was knowledge that I already had. Though the knowledge of different topics in this book was acquired at different times through different means, this book brought it all out, and tied it in nicely.

Great for people just starting to poke around, and asking "this cant be it, I need answers."

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Read it, I am not answering this one.

What does Paul Michael Garcia bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Intense audio

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was alert. If you guys want people to continue reviews, you should allow us to pick through drop down menu's topics you guys choose, and let us answer those... laughing and crying are to simple emotional states that some of us do not even subscribe to. Either be choice or reason.

  • Chariots of the Gods

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Erich von Daniken
    • Narrated By William Dufris
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods is a work of monumental importance---the first book to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth was visited by aliens. This world-famous best seller has withstood the test of time, inspiring countless books and films, including the author's own popular sequel, The Eye of the Sphinx.

    Robert says: "Great Stuff!"
"This Guy Needs to Wake Up. Bad approach for..."
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book was for me, but the author and narrator seems to have a point to prove that concerns rather the likes of those who discredit his prior work. It is as if he attacks them in
    his own Chariots of Fire.

And he is smart, he is far from enlightened, and I am not sure where he stands on the balance of god and evil.

Has Chariots of the Gods turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Its has not.

How could the performance have been better?

It could be entirely resubmitted as a new manuscript, reread, revised, and focused on what the man knows about things that I do not. He fails to share knowledge, but spreads hate in some way.

What character would you cut from Chariots of the Gods?

The Writer of the Book, he can go, we are over him.

    Any additional comments?

This literature should be found in the fiction area, or autobiography area.
