Someone who just wants to know what Peter Ducker wrote or who he is. Not someone who really wants to understand or apply Peter Drucker's wisdom.
If ever I need a 3 minute summary on Peter Drucker's "What Makes and Effective Executive" I know were to find it.
Get the complete version, not the "concise" once and beware in the future of "concise" versions.
Deep thought provoking, stimulating and fun!
Of course Mr Reardon and Mrs Taggart. However, I am what one calls a Reflective Rational, so its easy for me to relate with characters who live true to their principles and values.
Several, particularly when some of the leading characters were being blackmailed.
If you enjoy a stimulating and complex read, then this may be right for you.
Original, captivating, thought provoking
The originality of the almost "philosophical" plot.
Howard Rourke and Gale Weinand!
Laughter and anxiety.
A definite recommendation for those who like a good plot that gives you plenty to think about.
No. It does not much for you. Neither is it much thought provoking (at a per hour rate), nor very entertaining. I was glad when I was done with it. Nothing left behind stuck in my mind. Waste of time?
A few hos his descriptions of nature.
I had huge expectations of Henry Thoreau. Had read about him, am familiar with some of his thoughts and great frases, however, they aren't many in this book.
Its clear why this boook by George Orwell is a classic. Narrated by Samuel West it has been even further elevated. Due to the tough nature of the book, the story, its difficult to call the listening experience "enjoyable". However, if you're in the mood for a heavy piece of classic literature, you will not be disappointed.
At the top of the line!
The story, insights into this visionary leader, intimate details, rhythm and intonation of the narrators.
Rhythm and pace. On my own I would have probably not read Steve Jobs biography since its too long, detailed, sometimes repetitive and Steve's life/style at some points is a turn-off. Dylan and Walter made it possible for me to learn about Steve Jobs, who will enter the annals of history!
Oh yes, it made me smile, lough and shout out in surprise and amazement.
Definitely worth listening to if you have interest in the stories behind some of our great business leaders, change agents, visionaries or just in the story behind your lap top, mac, apps, i-tunes or i-phone!
Passion, facts and discipline lead to greatness in business (9 words!).
All of Jim Collins and Tom Peters books!
No, just read them.
Perhaps energized is the right word.
If you're into business and?or leadership books then you should definitely listen to this one!
Too academic, superficial yet longwinded, not stimulating enough. Feels like Colin McGin either just hit the "play button" and sang his song while watching Oprah on TV, or perhaps he was too bored to get into the basics of Philosophy, again?
If you truly want to be stimulated or be accompanied along the Big Questions in Philosophy, keep looking for another book.
Yes! Regardless of your religious beliefs or lack thereof, we all need to nurture the spirit. Deepak Chopra is just good at that, both with his words and with the tone of his voice (the indian accent to the perfect english just make a perfect "spiritual" mix!)
Seek quietness, don't resist, give in order to receive, choose and discover your purpose in life.
A perfect introduction into spirituality! Not religious, not too esoteric, no mantras, just enough to leave you thinking if you're ready for more.
Yes! It's perhaps the best way to get to know Edgar Allan Poe's works.
The incredible richness and wit that characterizes EAP! While I was somewhat turned off by the complexity of the first stories, once I got used to the increased stimulus of the intellect (it was about time!) I really enjoyed it!
Bob Thomley's voice, pace and interpretation of various characters and styles are superb! Please forgive him for his french and latin, after all he is an anglophone!
Short adventures by Edgar Allan Poe.
If you're looking for something a bit more challenging than the mainstream, yet not overwhelming, this is it. If rich language and delightful reading appeal to you, this is it.
