Give yourself the opportunity and listen to this audio book. Feel yourself drawn into your imagination of a story so real, in a beautiful Southern language rarely heard anymore.
I loved it. It has many facets, as all characters contribute so much to this story, I don't think I crasped it all. I am sure I will listen to it again, because this is a story of layered discoveries.
This author takes you on a journey of the human mind, he uses the Middle East as his back drop. This time it is outsiders of the country as well as the insiders who are participants of this story. Of people who escape to Europe, of the bonds to the East. I love listening to this author, so well narrated. So much can be learned of lives of people who spend much time together, of times changing, of picking up the pieces. It is a book that, as the others, takes you away and immerses you from day to day life. Well worth the listen.
This kept me on the edge of my car seat. Well written and narrated, it brought some of the atrocities of the area and times to life. Enjoyed the entanglement then untanglement of this story. Suggested this book to many. Was very taken by this story.
A piece of Maya's life, oh how I love listening to her! Her beautiful expressions and thoughts, that bring pictures into one's mind. I love Maya Angelou, so am quite partial I am afraid. It's an important part of her life where she takes the opportunity to identify herself in her world. Whoever likes her books,,,yes, listen to it. And having her narrate is absolute bliss!
I think I picked this volume for the author and the narrator. The story was a little to chopped for me, compared to some of the other stories from this author.
Oh, this one was hard to get away from. Listened to it ALL the time. So many unexpected twists and turns. Well written, well developed. Well performed, able to follow narrator easily. An absolute must read.
Interesting concept of a dog going through several lifetimes. Hadn't heard that before. It seemed like several short stories, some real short, but worth in the entirety. Just another perspective explored.
Not the greatest book I have listened to, but enjoyed the course of it, on the road it kept me interested as it was easy to listen to. A little like a lifetime movie.
I enjoyed the story and the lessons in it. Initially it threw me off a bit, but as time went on I did enjoy the story that became actually all inclusive, where the author played as much as a role in the development as the dog. It was long, but for an audiobook on long trips it served me well. Loved it, yes!
Oh, what a field day for psycho analysis of the darker side of the mind. I very much enjoyed the book as well as kate winslet reading it . Beautifully done. There are few that keep you in a grip than Emile Zola.
