The book is cleverly written and cleverly done. I really enjoyed the flashbacks that shed light on some of the decisions the characters make.
It may take Scott a lot of time to complete his books, but they are defiantly worth the wait.
Absolutely, this is one of the best narrated audiobooks I've ever listened to. His accents bring all the characters to life.
Joe Abercrombie's First Law series comes to mind. The lead character Jake Sullivan reminds me of 'The Blood Nine".
I love this type of epic fantasy series. Reminded me a lot of the Wheel of Time series but condensed.
I will pass on any further Farland books. I consider myself an individualist and much of the first 3 Runelords books centered around sacrificing the self for the greater good of the collective. The whole magic system is built around this premise. That being said, the book was still well written and entertaining in many parts.
Ray Porter is a great narrator. No complaints.
