the audio version is better as it allowed me the freedom to truly relax and enter the story
this is a modern version of the classic 'It's a Wonderful Life" as it reminds me, us, of what truly is of value, the gift of life and caring for others
the very last scene was my favorite; who wouldn't want to go back, correct our mistakes and love life as it was intended to be by our Creator
I wanted to listen to this in one sitting but unfortunately I had to do a little work, but I still finished it in one day and will listen to it again
I enjoyed the concept of counting time as the framework of the story, and the reader did an excellent preformance
Yes, as it was a thought provoking presentation of how an upper middle class neighbor would probably react to a pandemic. Our recent history show how some refuse to isolate for fear of contaminating the many.
The story was interesting and the twists in it entertaining. The narrator was very good as well. A relaxing listen.
The twists of the story line were great, which is why I continued to listen to one of the worst possible choices for a narrator. I had been looking at this book for some time, but when I listened to the sample the voice was so irritating I just passed it by. The reason I purchased it was that it went on sale and the reduced price made it worth it.
The idea that time and space are fluid.
The narrator could have had a more masculine voice, with less of a nasal whine and foppish attitude.
Yes if there had been a different narrator, but not with this guy!!
For me the narrator left a great deal to be desired, but don't let that make you miss a fascinating story.
Only because I enjoy listening as my eyes fail.
I enjoyed Constance being active in the story, but was disappointed some past characters were just given lip service.
Rene just seems to knock this and the other books in the series, out of the park.
I was disappointed that the lead in to the story was almost longer than the meat of the novel. There was so much potential, and it just came short of the mark. I kept waiting for it to grab me, and just kept listening to get through it.
The narration was terrible. That may have been the problem with the listen. Will Patton would have brought this to life, and I felt like I needed the antidepressants the main character in the book was taking.
His presentation was bland, with little or poor inflection. I will try to avoid any book he narrates.
I think it needs to be rerecorded and then see if it merits a follow up. One thing for sure, if the same guy narrates it - I'm skipping it!
The narration was excellent and the writing rich in descriptions that brought life to the story instead of tedious listening. It was an enjoyable escape back to childhood. I do plan on listening to it again.
I was hesitant about purchasing this book, but after fifteen minutes into it was very pleased. The book seemed well researched and very plausible in its presentation. It was a great listen that kept my full attention. I also liked the twists at the end. Would recommend this to anyone. I am hoping the series continues as well as this first installment.
Yes, it is a page turner so to speak. The plot is full of twists and the narration adds to it as well.
Shep is my favorite character as his heart if bigger than his feet.
This was one I wanted to listen through from beginning to end. Truly enjoyable.
exciting, surprising, intriguing
Cyn because she wouldn't let life keep her down, or let it drive her crazy. She had a strong sense of self and even coming from the worst of situations was able to make a loving family.
Once I started listening I just wanted to relax in a comfortable chair and listen. the book was fast paced, yet full of detail that brought it to life and it kept you on the edge of your seat.
I enjoyed the twist regarding Jane and will leave the listener to find out what I mean.
moving, inspiring, comforting
For a believer, this story is wonderful; and hopefully for a non-believer they will consider there is something keeping everything in motion other than inertia. God is always at work, especially when we think He isn't.
