A Great Work while listening there is no indication of what book, chapter, or verse you are hearing.!? This is a very large work and most folks would like to know what part they are hearing. I have this in the leather bound book and the kindle but it is impossible to follow along with the audio format.

This production makes one giant assumption. The reader / listener is gullible. Zukav assumes that you, the customer, will grant him authority to preach his "message". Blind faith in Zukav is the only way you or I might enjoy this "message". Sorry but, No Thank You....

David R. Lewis will keep your interest. This is well written, and since the author is doing the reading, the tale flows smooth as silk. The characters voices are clearly separate and firmly recognizable. The musical interludes between chapters is another plus, as it allows the imagination a few seconds to consider the storyline. David R. Lewis Is marking a clear trail and I will surely follow.

Writer, William Johnstone does a fantastic job in bringing the old west alive with the narration of Jack Garrett adding flavor and color to the adventure series. If your interested in the Wild West 1870-1900 this series will satisfy your desire.

There will never be another Western writer like Louis L’Amour. A legendary author and indisputably the greatest storyteller in his genre of all time, L’Amour captivated millions of readers and has sold well over three hundred million copies of his works, which includes nearly ninety novels and countless short stories. Mistakes Can Kill You highlights an essential selection featuring nine of L’Amour’s earlier short stories, sometimes written under the pen name Jim Mayo, that exemplify the rugged morality of the best Western writing.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone would enjoy this if the reader had at least paused a bit between sentences. The guy sounds like a computer.

Would you ever listen to anything by Louis L'Amour again?

Of course... I do love Louis L'Amour's writings but hate it when some hack destroys the flavor of a manuscript.

How could the performance have been better?

Pausing between sentences would be first. Adding some verbal feeling to the storyline would have made this a good audio book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger! This would have been enjoyable but the reader sabatoged the feeling of the story. What a waste!

    Any additional comments?

Don't wast your money on this. Sounds like a computer read the book! With a different reader, I would buy again.

The Lonesome Gods is Louis L'Amour's biggest and most important historical novel to date, a sweeping adventure of the California frontier. Here is the fascinating story of Johannes Verne, a young man left to die by his vengeful grandfather, rescued by outlaws and raised in part by the Indians of the desert.

Where does The Lonesome Gods rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I am listening to this audio book again... This is a story for thinkers; those who prefer the solitude of a good story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Johannes Verne is my favorite character. At the age of six, Johannes Verne, took the hard lessons of life as nourishment for his soul. Despite the dark and dangerous times of his early youth, Johannes Verne grew to become a good man. A man of courage.

What does David Strathairn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

David Strathairn gave the story feeling. His style, as a reader made the story live.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No... The book is many hours.

    Any additional comments?

Great book, written by a legend, read by a man who gave the story character.

Robert Oppenheimer was among the most brilliant and divisive of men. As head of the Los Alamos Laboratory, he oversaw the successful effort to beat the Nazis in the race to develop the first atomic bomb – a breakthrough that was to have eternal ramifications for mankind and that made Oppenheimer the “Father of the Atomic Bomb.” But with his actions leading up to that great achievement, he also set himself on a dangerous collision course with Senator Joseph McCarthy and his witch-hunters. In Robert Oppenheimer: A Life Inside the Center, Ray Monk, author of peerless biographies of Ludwig Wittgenstein and Bertrand Russell, goes deeper than any previous biographer in the quest to solve the enigma of Oppenheimer’s motivations and his complex personality.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book could have been half as long if the storyline did not present a mini biography on everyone before Oppenheimer's birth and everyone during Oppenheimer's life who may have come in contact with Oppenheimer.

What could Ray Monk have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This book should have stuck to the subject.

What about Michael Goldstrom’s performance did you like?

    Great performance!

Do you think Robert Oppenheimer needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No.... Why beat a dead horse?

    Any additional comments?

This was a waste of time. I kept waiting for the storyline to get back to the subject but when it did return it would quickly veer off to focus on some other character who MAY have influenced Oppenheimer's life.

Physicists have been exploring, debating, and questioning the general theory of relativity ever since Albert Einstein first presented itin 1915. Their work has uncovered a number of the universe's more surprising secrets, and many believe further wonders remain hidden within the theory's tangle of equations, waiting to be exposed. In this sweeping narrative of science and culture, astrophysicist Pedro Ferreira brings general relativity to life through the story of the brilliant physicists, mathematicians, and astronomers who have taken up its challenge.

What would have made Authentic Power better?

Throw out the parts on reincarnation and channeling and I would have enjoyed the book.

Has Authentic Power turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

What three words best describe Gary Zukav and Michael Toms ’s performance?

    "A good "performance"

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

There is a trace of wisdom here but the author could have done as well if the book had been a testimony on an anien abduction.

I can only hope his other books get back to reality.

What disappointed you about The Fabric of the Cosmos?

The narration sounded like Jack Web on the old time Dragnet series. What a wast of a good manuscript.

Has The Fabric of the Cosmos turned you off from other books in this genre?

No way but I will watch out for the narration.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I'd rather visit the dentist than listen to that monotone grating.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment? I wasted my time and money to listen to a guy sabotage what could have been a great audiobook.

    Any additional comments?

Comments? I'd rather not prolong the disgusting experience.
