I like nonfiction, biographies and the occasional novel. BUT I can not pass up a good mystery, crime novel, or really great suspense plot. I am fascinated by an author's creative ability to interweave twists. Since Flynn's 'Gone Girl', the bar for a completely unseen game-changer is pretty high! Challenge extended :)

For Lieutenant Teri Howe, one of the best helicopter pilots in the naval reserves, nothing stands in the way of her passion for flying--until a past mistake surfaces, jeopardizing everything she's worked for. Senior Chief Stan Wolchonok has made a career of tackling difficult challenges so it's no surprise when he comes to Teri's aid, knowing that his personal code of honor--and perhaps his heart--will be at risk.

Would you listen to Over the Edge again? Why?

    Yes

What did you like best about this story?

This book bridges the series together. I started randomly in the Troubleshooters series. Most all of the events that have been references in the other 3 I've read were addressed in this book.

What about Laura Hicks’s performance did you like?

Laura adjusted her voice for the different charachters enough to differentiate but not too much to sound ridiculous.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It held my attention but it wasn't until the last 5 chapters that I really couldn't stop listening.

  • American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies That the Government Tells

In this explosive account of wrongful acts and ongoing cover-ups, Jesse Ventura takes a systematic look at the wide gap between what the American government knows and what it reveals to the American people. For too long, we the people have sat by and let politicians and bureaucrats from both parties obfuscate and lie. And according to this former Navy SEAL, former pro wrestler, and former Minnesota governor, the media is complicit in these acts of deception.

Would you try another book from Jesse Ventura and Dick Russell and/or George K. Wilson?

This may be a decent read but it is very difficult to follow as an audiobook. The author jumps forward, backward and back and forth on subjects.

From New York Times best-selling author Pete Earley: the strange but true story of a man who suffers a traumatic brain injury and as a result is given the ability to converse with the world's most terrifying criminals.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was interesting because it did include cases I had seen or heard brief details on throughout the years on different true crime shows. But to truly be able to step into the mind of killer guard down is a different animal all together. Truly sickening and beware it is extremely descriptive and gory from a serial killers perverse own recollection.

If you’ve listened to books by Pete Earley before, how does this one compare?

    I haven't so I can't compare

    Which scene was your favorite?

When they are in the car leaving a visit at a max sec prison and the distant crime story aspect is gone and now any pity he felt for the SKs was gone and focus was again on the Victims & families

Was The Serial Killer Whisperer worth the listening time?

Yes but only once! I'm truly amazed at how the killers rationalized or excused their crimes. Sometimes even claimed they were doing them a favor

    Any additional comments?

Narrator kept me listening. Excellent performance

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Teddy says: "Demented, twisted, sick and I loved it!"
"Wow! I was not disappointed! Very talented author!"
