In Ava’s dreams, her son, Noah, looks just the way she remembers him: a sweet two-year-old in rolled-up jeans and a red sweatshirt. When Ava wakes, the agonizing truth hits her all over again. Noah went missing two years ago, and his body has never been found. Almost everyone, including Ava’s semi-estranged husband, Wyatt, assumes the boy drowned after falling off the dock near their Church Island home. Ava has spent most of the past two years in and out of Seattle mental institutions, shattered by grief and unable to recall the details of Noah’s disappearance.

What would have made You Don't Want to Know better?

The narrator screamed so much throughout the book that I would have to take my ear buds out and just listen for the screeching to stop. It is the worst listen in my 10 years.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    A good mystery.

What didn’t you like about Christina Traister’s performance?

    The screaming was unbearable.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    frustration

After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: his sister, the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

Would you try another book from Robert Galbraith and/or Robert Glenister?

No. I really tried to listen to this book. The main character and his assistant were likeable - but the language kept getting worse and worse. I bet the F-bomb was thrown out over 300 times - and I couldn't even finish the book. Who needs that? Not me!

Would you ever listen to anything by Robert Galbraith again?

    Definitely not

Which character – as performed by Robert Glenister – was your favorite?

    Robin

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Cuckoo's Calling?

All of the redundant cursing scenes. There are other ways to get your point across.

    Any additional comments?

Come on, authors! We're better than that - and so are you!!
