Yes, Lots of twist and turns.
The ending, there is a twist at the end that I was not expecting.
He is the perfect James Bond
I am not a fan of the James Bond movies, but I am becoming a fan of the books, I am working my way through the series and they are a great listen.
I don't know if it was time well spent or not, I listen at work and I am going to listen to something.
The least interesting thing in this and all Anita Blake stories is the need to rehash things, and that Anita gets an attitude when someone questions her life, but she flaunts it in everyone's face when she has to deal with different law enforcement. Ms. Hamilton also needs to decide if Anita is going to be a strong woman or a whiney little girl, and I think that she needs to stop saying things like yummy, and what flavor of something some one is, and last but not least stop pointing out the differences between men and women its 2014, not 1814.
I might listen if she were not doing a series, she changed her pronunciation from book to book, may be because there was another narrator for some books and she forgot.
I don't think so
This may be the last Anita Blake book for me if the character does not change, the last 3-4 books are interchange. with each other.
It started out with a story and got sidetracked by the sex, Anita can't take 5 steps without someone wanting to have sex with her. We need more story. We don't need all of the
She's doing strange voices, Micah went to Ireland and came back a Leprechaun, and Asher sounded strange.
We don't need the resume of every character in each book This is book 21 we know who is who..Anita needs to decide is she is a girl or boy and stop pointing out the differences so much.Stop using Yummy so much.If Anita is so tough she does not have to talk about it, actions speak louder than words. What happened to Ronnie, Zombie raisings all the things that were in the first books.
I worked my way thru all of the original James Bond stories, and I enjoyed them very much. Simon Vance is James Bond on Audio, just remember the stories are dated and if you are offend easy do not listen.
I have listened to it again and again, it is such a good read or listen and i fall in love with Call and Gus over and over.
The Virginian- another Cowboy who stands for what is right in his world
It would be Gus, because he is such a raconteur, it would be a dinner you would never forget.
If you need a book get this one and you will not be sorry.
No, E. L James can not write, and Becca Battoe is a horrible reader for this series.
No, her voice is to whiney and shrill, and my inner goddess would hula on my grave.
I am working my way thru the entire series, so I am getting more of the story.
Laural Merlington was fine for the first two books, but for some reason she has started to pronounce the names in a diffrent way, I was gooing to check the books to see if I misunderstood, the names of the characters.
I hope Ms. Merlington stays constant with the way she pronounces the names in the rest of the series.
It's a story that you don't want to end.
I would compare to Lonesome Dove and not becasue they are both Westerns.
The Virginian, because, he was true to the character
Its hard for me to fall in love with a character, but I fell head over hills with the Man from Virginina. It made me laugh and cry and never want the story to end.
This book was written over a hundred years ago, but you cant tell, it is well written and well read.
The sex was toned down, there was not an orgy on every other page. What I liked least was the way Anita described everything, from brown eyes like hers, the men are all too beautiful. There need to be some real people in the book.
Maybe its time for Anita to move along.
Too much repetition, all of her lovers have long flowing hair and great bodies, and everyone falls in love with Anita, it’s boring, I miss the days of the Necromancer , when she had a job to do or a case to solve, now it seems as if the whole world is either out to kill Anita or sleep with her. This book was better than the last 3-4 books and I hope they keep getting better. Audible also needs to get rid of the music and silly sound effects; a good story does not need them. Ms Hamilton also needs to stop with Anita wanting to be one of the boys, but crying when someone hurts her feelings, just because a woman works with men does not mean she has to become one, either Anita is a woman or she is not, the character is supposed to be so strong but she keeps comparing herself to the men she works with, it’s silly and weak.
This is one of my favorite books, and I am glad that it is on Audible. I was surprised at how well Bronson Pinchot read the book, I was expecting a comedy reading, but he gave a great performance and the voices he did were great.
