In the wealthy New York suburb of Hadley Farms, divorced mom Sara Turner is juggling a new fiance, a new TV career, and a Newcomer's Club that throws sex-toy parties. Her oldest friend, Kate Steele, is Manhattan's "Derm Darling", a successful Park Avenue skin doctor whose office is always packed with the city's creme de la thin...and whose bedroom is frequented by a real estate mogul who has his own plane, and his own very big problem.

    Tracy says: "Mine are spectacular"
    "A little disappointing"
    Overall

I loved another book I purchased by these authors and read by the same narrator. However, I was not as impressed with this book. The narrator portrayed the 7 yr old boy as a 4 yr old. The story line took an "are you kidding me?!" turn. Overall, the story seemed rather disconnected.

Her best friend Jess is a divorced suburban mom with a sexy French ex-husband in her bed and a reality show "bachelor" named Boulder on her couch. Jess and Lucy's friendship flourishes through bake sales, Botox parties, and the transition from itty-bitty bikinis to "Kindest Cut" one-piece suits.

This book was a thoroughly enjoyable read. It was intricate and well-balanced. Narrator did a fabulous job.

Rock is something of a nerd - or so his best friend, Kelli, has always claimed, simply because he's a brainy guy. He's an up-and-coming businessman, determined to go far fast - and he's the total opposite of fun-loving Kelli. To his regret, Kelli has always seen him as a best friend, never as a potential lover.

Judy says: "Didn't live up to it's potential"

Nothing too brilliant about this story.

Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) is pregnant! She couldn't be more overjoyed, especially since discovering that shopping cures morning sickness. Everything has got to be perfect for her baby: from the designer nursery, to the latest, coolest pram, to the celebrity, must-have obstetrician. But when the celebrity obstetrician turns out to be her husband Luke's glamorous, intellectual ex-girlfriend, Becky's perfect world starts to crumble.

    Julie says: "JUST LOVED IT!"

Cute story. Would have enjoyed a little more twists and turns perhaps. This seemed the most mild of the Shopaholics...

When their friend Tom is killed in a terrorist attack, a group gathers to mourn, and as they do, they rediscover the power of friendship, the politics of change, and the true meaning of midlife crisis. Mesmerizing and deliciously appealing, Second Chance will strike a chord with anyone who is still trying to figure life out.

Jane Green always develops the characters so well. I expected this book to be more dreary, but it was lovely. A lot more occurs within the story than you anticipate. Good listen.

In an ice-cream shop one rainy day, Arlo and Petra stand before each other once again. Is this their second chance? Isn't old gold as good as new? However, for love to blossom, they must finally put their pasts to bed - a past Petra can't quite remember and a past Arlo wants to forget.

This story line was so entailed. It is a very relaxing listen--which is perfect for bedtime stories. However, I listen when on my treadmill. It wasnt ideal for that--harder to follow the details. I havent read Freya North before. Definitely would read other stories by her.

The last decade of Cannie's life has brought some surprises. Her life story, in fictional form, became an unexpected best-seller, and Cannie has since choosen to retreat from fame's fallout, writing science fiction under a pen name. Her daughter, Joy, has descended into the throes of moody adolescence, just in time for her bat mitzvah.

David and Shoshana Cooper says: "Not nearly as good as first book"
    "Good, not great"

I adore Weiner's style. This was a good story line. Just not as powerful as her first book.

Because she's too busy bringing home the bacon to cook it. On the surface, Alex Hill is every inch the polished, high-flying marketing executive of a global sportswear company. But things are not quite as they appear; she's rushed off her feet with barely enough time to take out the rubbish bins, let alone pull together an amazing product launch.

    "Rapid Reader"
    Overall

The narrator speaks far too quickly. I felt like I was in a race to get through the book rather than getting to enjoy it.
