I don't know exactly what I was expecting - a thriller or a fantasy - it really wasn't either.
What a nauseating character this Travis Mcgee. I'm a huge fan of mysteries. thriller's etc.. but really couldn't stand the teenage boy outlook on women and himself - won't be bothering with any more in the series.
Thank goodness for Juliet Stevenson I certainly could not have stomached this story if it weren't for her narration. I am a very big fan of English classics but this was too much even Charles Dickens seems like a barrel of laughs in comparison. The most depressing listen ever!
I'm new to this series but will definitely be adding more Lucas Davenport to my reading list. A different twist introducing the killer at the beginning.
A really fascinating thriller from beginning to end. Had to make sure i was paying attention so I didn't miss any of the details. Scary to think about the collusion of government and "big" science.
Historically and educationally very interesting but hard to hear how we treat our fellow man in such a disgusting manner. Found the character of Lavinia and Orlagh Cassidy's narration very annoying. On the whole a very depressing and sad story.
Love dogs and mysteries. David Rosenfelt did not disappoint. Grover Gardner is one if my favorite narrator's so a win win all round!
I can't imagine anyone being quite as screwed up as Amy so the story was a little implausible for me. That said ; it was an enjoyable and unpredictable listen.
This book had a lot of potential with interesting subject matter and historical interest. However unlike other listeners I cant wait for it to end to get to other books in my library. I usually hate being interrupted while listening but find I can easily have a brief conversation and go back to listening without having missed anything. I feel a sense of annoyance with all the characters simply because they are either jerks or completely spineless. The narrator sounds as though she's reading to a child so a bit patronizing. Might be OK as a movie.
I've enjoyed every one of Tom Rob Smith's books in this series, this is no exception. Great narrator too
