Interesting way to think of the creative process (or war). Probably the best quote "It was easier for Hitler to start WWII than to face the blank canvas."

  • Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren’t expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed—a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy’s trip to heaven and back.

In almost all cases the book is better than the movie, but in this case the movie completely distorted the message of the book. I saw the movie first and felt the message was lame and disappointing from a Christian perspective. A friend said I had to read the book because it was totally different. I whole-heartedly agree now. The book presents a compelling case for the child's trip to heaven. The book is much more theologically sound than I expected (although I did have a couple points of disagreement). Overall definitely worth the read/listen.

Very helpful in understanding how our brain works and we can actually deceive ourselves. Although I don't share all of the authors conclusions and summaries I found the information helpful and definitely worth the time.

Grace—it’s a stained-glass, impersonal word until it happens to you... Until you have been broken beyond belief and need a miracle for your soul. Until you have betrayed a loved one and cannot bring him back. Until you have befriended every darkness and are desperate for the light. That’s when God’s relentless, amazing, very personalized grace finds you.
