When best-selling mystery writer David Rosenfelt and his family moved from Southern California to Maine, he thought he had prepared for everything. They had mapped the route, brought three GPSs for backup, as well as refrigerators full of food, and stoves and microwaves on which to cook them. But traveling with 25 dogs turned out to be a bigger ordeal than he anticipated, despite RVs, the extra kibble, volunteers (including a few readers), and camping equipment.

This is a romance novel ! A soft porn romance novel. I don't mind sex scenes but really it gets old fast when at least 25% of the story is about getting laid. The story line is different and could have been so good if it weren't for the constant long drawn out love making scenes . Its just that they were so long and drawn out and poorly written that I found my self fast forwarding the book.It really is a shame cause the basic story has a really different take on the end of the world .I have no idea how this book got any 5 star ratings.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

Ive read the bad reviews and dont think they are a reaction to the book but to Scot Brick. If this was read by someone else it would get much better ratings.Scot just reads badly,I read the book first and its better and you have to get around the whinning voice of his.The prose is good, the story lines detailed. And it may have a vampire story line but thats todays "monster".If it was from the 60s it would be space monsters. All books have a period accent to them.

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

At first I was disapointed to find out it was a "zombie"book.I dont usually like such books. But this one was different, well writen with lots of action. But it is a well thought out story that includes politics, medical, spys and the internet. It is a different kind of book.I thought the narration was fine.I didnt notice a lisp.
