  • Creating Your World the Way You Really Want it to Be

    • ORIGINAL (4 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, Deepak Chopra
    • Narrated By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, Deepak Chopra

In this truly inspirational audiobook, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and Deepak Chopra, M.D., two of the most highly respected authors and teachers in the self-help/transformational field, tell you how you can create your world the way you really want it to be....

John says: "A waste of time and money"
    "Same as every Dyer book"

Deepak Chopra is my favorite author - and what a waste when he's with Wayne Dyer! Is Chopra is doing Dyer a personal favor by co-authoring with him? Most of what Dyer has to say is to plug his own other works, tell us name-dropping stories about his life, and fawn over Chopra (who wouldn't?! but that's not what I bought the book for...)the actual "what to do and why" is all Chopra's - I'll just buy his sole authored ones from now on.

  • Mending the Soul: Understanding and Healing Abuse

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By Steven R. Tracy
    • Narrated By Eric Turner
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Biblically grounded and psychologically informed, Mending the Soul is a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive approach to understanding and treating every form of abuse for pastoral and ministry staff; small group leaders and youth workers; educators and seminary students; pastoral and clinical counselors.

Trisha says: "Please be careful if you are the one suffering."
"Please be careful if you are the one suffering."

This really brings it all up. It was intense when I was relating to my own abuse. My mother did not speak out for me. Now at 56, I feel paralized by the guilt of choosing not to fight. My grandson was abused and I was too afraid, for so many reasons. Now I spend my present life trying to make the past different.
It took me a few times over a course of a week to listen to all of this book. I wonder if I should have just spared myself. I already knew what had happened and how I feel about it & after 9 years can usually get away from those memories and feelings, but of course they seep out (all the time!) in my daily behavior.
I guess, now that I did listen to all of it, wish that I had not put myself through listening to this, but that's because it is so spot on.
Lots & lots of Christian references, Biblical quotes etc.

  • Go Beyond Guilt and Regret to Realize a New You: Secrets of Being Unstoppable, Program 13

    • ORIGINAL (54 mins)
    • By Guy Finley
    • Narrated By Guy Finley

Have you ever hurt someone you love, or acted against your own best interests, and then wished you could undo what had been done? How would you like to put any mistake you have ever made behind you? And, rather than be punished by a parade of painful thoughts and memories, learn how to rise above the negative states of guilt and regret?

    D Farley says: "not reccomended"
    "a little too arrogant"

This was the best book that I've read or listened to as far as overcoming obsessive guilt. I have Post Traumatic Stress and some memories, especially of faces, were ruining what was left of my life. I felt a great sense of relief or release after listening to it the first time. There is a part, however, when the interviewer says, "Please don't shout at me" but the author does shout. And then he shouted louder still. Raising his voice like that, unnecessarily, really took away from the book & the subject. Another time, in a conversation about learning, the author states that this planet has learned nothing, NOTHING! No one was talking about the earth / this planet. Those remarks seemed to be just tossed in & then you have to try to remember where he was at before chastising the planet.
The material is great. I wish the author would have toned down his personality some.

  • The Flavor Point Diet: The Delicious, Breakthrough Plan to Turn Off Your Hunger and Lose Weight for Good

    • ABRIDGED (2 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By David L. Katz, Catherine S. Katz
    • Narrated By David L. Katz

The research-proven new diet that enables you to lose weight quickly, safely, and for life, simply by combining foods by the right flavors, at the right time!

Trisha says: "Does NOT Contain Diet - This is an INFOMERCIAL!"
"Does NOT Contain Diet - This is an INFOMERCIAL!"

SO DISAPPOINTED! This is an infomercial disguised as an audio book! The whole tape is just to convince you to buy the book, with the diet! It does not tell you the rules of the diet. It does not tell you what food to eat - only success stories which mention Nut Days and Strawberry Days, but you have to buy the book to find out more! I am surprised and again, disappointed, that Audible is selling this!

  • The Secrets of the Power of Intention

    • ORIGINAL (6 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
    • Narrated By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

In this live lecture, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explores intention as an all-pervading force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. Intention, he explains, is not something you do, but an energy you're a part of. Not only do you emanate from the field of intention, but if you align yourself to it, your desires become fulfilled and you find yourself at peace.

    Capsaicin says: "Inspiring"
    "Did nothing for me"

I totally agree with the reviewer who said she was surprised at the high rating! If you want to know the *truths* behind Dyer's books, read Deepak Chopra - that's where he got everything anyway. And Chopra isn't such a stuck on himself namedropper. I spent money to hear how spiritual Wayne Dyer is and all the celebrities he's friends with... No more!

  • Ready for Anything: 52 Productivity Principles for Work and Life

    • ABRIDGED (3 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By David Allen
    • Narrated By David Allen

Discover David Allen's powerful productivity principles and vastly increase your ability to work better, not harder - every day. He asks listeners what's holding them back and shows how all of us can be "ready for anything" - with a clear mind, a clear deck, and clear intentions. This is the perfect audiobook for anyone wanting to work and live at his or her very best.

    Jeff says: "Good follow-up to"
"I Need Both Books and I'm Waiting for a Third!!"

I've listened to David Allen's books several times and I'll continue to buy whatever he publishes. I've read the other reviews and I agree that there is an overlap of information in the two books. That is normal and logical - text books are the same way. There are enough new ideas and/or unique ways of stating his points to motivate me again and anew! Maybe it depends on where you're starting from ~ if you get up and exercise before you go to work or you can't go to bed with dishes in your sink, then maybe one book would give you enough ideas and tactics for a great jumpstart. If you wish you had a clean glass in the house, you might want both books! :) Also, these are NOT books about housework. The examples given are all varied from the business world to family life, but I apply the principles to my own personal cross to bear!!

  • It's Never Crowded Along the Extra Mile: 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace

    • ORIGINAL (9 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Wayne W. Dyer
    • Narrated By Wayne W. Dyer

This lecture features Dr. Wayne W. Dyer as he shares what it's like to go the extra mile and lead a deeper, fuller life. Drawing upon the lessons of great teachers such as St. Francis of Assisi, Viktor Frankl, Jesus Christ, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and Buddha, Dr. Dyer helps you discover that you can achieve true inner peace and success by integrating ten powerful "secrets" into your life that can transform your everyday existence into a path for spiritual enlightenment.

    Adam says: "Life transforming"
    "Buy Deepak Chopra Instead"

Nine and a half hours of Wayne Dyer... drones on... I find his name-dropping irritating and unnecessary. It seems like much of his wisdom comes through Deepak Chopra, so why not listen to Deepak Chopra - less monologue about his life, less breathing and mouth/tongue noises - more truth and wisdom.
