I would definitely recommend this book to young and old alike even though it was written for young adults. I thought it was an exceptional book despite the dark vision of life after the fall of the U.S. Since I cannot begin to imagine something as barbaric as the hunger games, I found myself disturbed and angry more often than not. On the other hand, I also had hope for Katniss and could not help cheering her on. It really was a strange mix of very strong emotions throughout the entire book. Yet, it did not stop me from finishing the trilogy.
