A former football star and one of Chicago's top prosecutors, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cade Morgan will do anything to nail a corrupt state senator, which means he needs Brooke Parker's help. As general counsel for a restaurant company, she can get a bug to the senator's table at one of her five-star restaurants so the FBI can eavesdrop on him. All Cade has to do is convince Brooke to cooperate-and he's not afraid to use a little charm, or the power of his office, to do just that.

As much as I loved the other books in this series I think I like this one the best. I know there wasn't any kind of suspense to speak of but it was such a great romance. I loved everything about Cade and Brooke, I really liked Ford, Vaughn, Huxley and Zach. A really enjoyable read. It does, however, seem that each book has more sex in it than the last, which isn't a bad thing.

As to the narrator: I think Ms. White outdid herself with this book. And the reviewer who said the hero's voice sounded like "a relative of Thurston Howl III from Giligans Island" I can only say NOT BY A LONG SHOT!!! Ms. White got better with each book. Even though I wasn't crazy about the Brooklyn accent she gave Nick in A Lot Like Love, it still wasn't horrible.

How this narrator ever got more than 1 star is beyond me. I'm only at 2% and Nick is telling Chris that the senator has been murdered and both Nick and Chris sound exactly the same.
Chrystal, another reviewer, said it all: the narrator is horrible. I'am soo done with this listen.

I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator! IMO..

By day, she is Lady Georgiana, sister to a duke, ruined before her first season in the worst kind of scandal. But the truth is far more shocking - in London's darkest corners, she is Chase, the mysterious, unknown founder of the city's most legendary gaming hell. For years, her double identity has gone undiscovered - until now.

An amazing book and a series group of people I'll miss terribly. West and Georgiana were marvelous, with just the right amount of angst going on. Loved Caroline and, as always, it was wonderful to see Bourne, Cross and Temple, 3 great "dudes."
The sex in this book was some of the best I've ever read. It was just perfect.
I know I'll start at the beginning and read this series over and over again. It was, simply said, perfectly written.

As to the narrator: I really like Justine Eyre! Yeah, she does make all her men sound alike but they do sound like men and she could use a little more emotions in her performance but she has a wonderful reading voice. I guess what I really mean is that any female reader that can make a man sound manly is alright in my book. Listening to her on 1.25 seems perfect.

This is not my usual genre, I think it might have been the second alien book I've ever read and the other book was by the same author, I think? A Touch of Frost, which was an awesome read too.I really liked Jesse and Hunter. She loved and cared for her two sisters: Taylor and Jordan until it almost killed her. And Hunter, because he grew to love them all and took over the care of them. I really liked Dagger and Saber, too. I'am surprised that this author's next book is about someone who was only mentioned once on the last few pages of the book instead of about Dagger. She left you hanging about what happened to him then didn't write a book about it. AND, no, this is not a cliffhanger but it did leave you wondering.
This was a sensual read so all you Christian readers and "no sex" readers stay away. The F-bomb was let loose 15 times but since I'm a potty-mouth anyway it didn't bother me. But for all of you with Christian ears it would be a horrible thing for you.

As to the narrator: He did a damn good job. He gave Hunter a really sexy voice but with a male reader you'd expect that. He also gave the women a nice feminine voice, too, which you don't expect. Male narrators usually do a terrible job on women but Mr. Brenin did amazingly well. I would definitely want to listen to him again.

My headline goes out to Rosemary, the only other reviewer at this time. Sue Pitkin is one of the worst narrators, ever. Ronan sounds like a girl everytime he talks. Well, actually every man sounds like a girl every time they say anything. And these are supposed big tough Scotsmen. Really? AND when the two are SNEAKING out of the castle and surrounded by people the book said they whispered but that was not so with this narrator. It just sounded sooo stupid to be talking in a regular tone instead of a whisper. I shoud have looked at the other 11 reviews she did before getting this book. I would never listen to Ms. Pitkin again.
This is AUDIBLE and I'm reviewing the AUDIBLE version of this book. I'll finish it by just reading it. Another book ruined by the narrator. How unfair to the authors.

I have no idea how this narrator got any more than 1 star, ever. She is just terrible and I can see why she has just 6 books she's read. Marcus's boss, Shipley, is 6 feet-eleven and sounds just like a woman when he's raising hell with Marcus. Can you imagine a man that tall sounding like a girl?? She doesn't even make an effort to sound manly. Anyway, I'm done listening. I'll finish the book by reading it.

I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. What a great, great ending to a wonderful series. What an awesome love Lumina/Hope and Magnus had (and some great sex, too.)
I loved everything about this book,Magnus and Hope, Jenna and Leander, Morgan and Zander, Honor and Beckett, etc, etc..
Absolutely hated the Grand Minister and Thorne, but loved what happened to them.. LOL..Loved the last page.
I was a little concerned about Gregor but he turned out to be ok.
I'm a sorry to see this series end but it went out with a bang!

As to the narrator: She was absolutely terrific while the reading of this book. Her voices were wonderful and her emotions were phenomenal. She laughed, she cried, she whispered and she actually yelled when the book called for it. Just amazing. Awesome job!!

I love CB's Weekday series and her Not Quite series. Well, since I've read almost all her books I guess I just love her writing.
It would be impossible to say which is my favorite book but this one would be right up on top.
As others have mentioned, the part where Judy was tied up in the basement was pretty horrific but it didn't last long before Rick and Neil came to the rescue, not horrific enough to get 1 or 2 stars! It's like they based their review on a chapter or two of the whole book.
Anyway, I loved Taken by Tuesday, like so many others. Great storyline. Great love affair, great sex. Just a great book.
Loved seeing Blake and Sam, Zach and Karen, Neil and Gwen, Carter and Eliza and Michael.
AND true to real life, Detectives Raskin and Perozo arrest the good guy and stop looking for the real bad guy. BUT it all worked out and there was a HEA for Rick and Judy.

As to the narrator: She did a wonderful job. I never get tired of listening to Tanya Eby. Her men might all sound almost alike but, at least, they sound like men and that's important to me.

Another great book from the Not Quite series. And I have to say that Walt's and Dakota's mothers were just awful, for the biggest part of the book. On the other hand, Dakota's sunny personality and disposition was just awesome. I loved everything about them both. Loved her best friend, Mary, as well as Glen and it was nice to see Monica and Trent/Barefoot again. Ms. Bybee writes warm, sensual and wonderful love stories and I never get tired of her books. I'm off to read Taken By Tuesday now.

This was a really great read. Loved how Max tried so hard to stay away from Abby. Loved the laugh-out-loud moments when Abby talked about Max's body part.
Big Jack was a real creep and deserved what he got but I'm not so sure about Emmett and Bill. I thought that was a little unfair.
I thought the sex was ok but there wasn't any kind of passion or lust, no thoughts of wanting when they were apart, no real sexual tension. Everything that had to do with sex was only when they were together and that's not all that great. However, it was not enough to take away from this being a great story.

As to the narrator: Just great! He had perfect men's voices and perfect women's voices. Could have had a little more emotions but I still really liked him. And that's saying a lot for me. I don't usually like the men narrators but Mr. Page did an awesome job. I would definitely listen to him again.

This was a good read. I liked Annie and Cade. Liked the storyline, too. I especially liked Lily Rae, Violet Fae and Daisy Mae, really funny names. Also liked Page and Cole, Miles, Marshall and Pierce.
Funniest names EVER for the deputies: Dinky and Noodle.

As far as sex goes? There was NONE! There was a little sexual tension but then it was fade-to-black.
I know a lot of readers like that but I don't happen to be one of those. Therefore, as much as I liked this book I can't see myself reading any others.
