Cursed with immortality, Dermot MacKay craves death. To lift the faerie curse placed upon him and his men over 1,600 years ago, he must return the soul of his reincarnated wife to the exact place and time of her murder. But her soul is currently residing in the very modern Sidney St. George - and first he has to convince her to accompany him to Scotland.

I wish this had been a series it was so good. Loved Dermot and Sidney. Hated Aine. Great story of immortal Highlanders, and I do love Highlanders. I've never read this author before but I intend to see what else she has to offer. Lots of dialogue and some great sex. What more could you ask for?
The narrator did a spectacular job.

When her eccentric aunt passes away, no-nonsense accountant Clare Cermac inherits more than just a small fortune. She receives the gift of communicating with ghosts. While Clare may not believe in spirits, it’s hard to overlook the shadowy talking dog appearing on her bed or spectral cowboys tipping their hats to her in the streets of Denver. And when she locks eyes with sexy - and living - Zach Slade, there’s certainly no ignoring him either.

I liked this book well enough but it seemed kind of silly to continue letting Clare get sicker and sicker rather than have her admit she could see ghosts. Stubborn is only good for so long then it becomes tedious. And Zach was almost as stubborn, but not quite. Since I found both Clare and Zach more than a little whiny I can’t see myself moving on to the next one. It’s also a little too long and repetitive and way to expensive, IMO. There was some good sexual tension and sex in this book but not enough to overcome the constant whining they both did, him about his leg and her about seeing ghosts, it continued throughout the book.
I liked Mrs. Flinton and Mrs. MaGee and Rickman and Jack Slade but mostly I loved Enzo.

As to the narrator: Ms. Marlo did a wonderful job. The men sounded like men instead all girly BUT what she really did a great job on was Enzo. OMG, what a spectacular voice she gave to Clare's ghost dog. Loved that dog, thanks to Ms. Marlo. I would definitely listen to her again.

    Roderick
What a nice little story. Sweet love story and some very nice sex. It was nice sex because Roderick was mute and couldn’t say the stupid things authors usually have them say that have me rolling my eyes. Evelyn was a little goofy and ran off at the mouth when she was nervous and that made her sooo likable. Oh, and, Alrik got all that he deserved.

    Connor
Another sweet story. I just love how the berserkers decide who will be their mate. LOL.. Even though they sound scary as hell when they’re in that form. AND I really don’t know how a woman could possibly get turned on by him when she’d surrounded by dead bodies. Fortunately, THAT didn’t last long. I really did like Connor and Lindsay. And, again, the bad guy, Angus, got what he deserved and I was happy about that.

    Finn
The end! And what a great book. I loved every story and every hero and heroine. Loved Finn and Rhona the best, I think. She had it pretty rough so I was really happy for their HEA. And it was nice to see Roderick and Evelyn and Connor and Lindsay. Three really wonderful brothers. All got their own bad guy, including Finn.

As to the narrator: Again, he was just alright for me. The worst was Finn's voice. I don't know, he sounded kind of stupid. I'm just not that crazy about Derek Perkins.

    MY AMAZON REVIEW:

Jane said: "I liked the William Shakespeare quotes at the beginning of each chapter. But they were unrelated to what was happening. I don't think they belong in this book," And I have to agree. There are a LOT of people who don't like Shakespeare and find his words nonsensical and I'm one of those people. The words really didn't seem to have anything to do with that was going on. But, since the book was being read to me I couldn't just pass them by.
AMAZON CUSTOMER said: "Focused on Romance." And, again I agree. If this book was going to concentrate mainly on the romance it shouldn't have been called Righteous Kill, that's very misleading.
I just read Ms. Byrne's trilogy called Reclaimed, about 3 sisters who were banshees and I absolutely loved it. This book? Not so much.

I really liked Luca and Hero. And the secondary characters, Vince, Angora, Knox, Rown, Ozolde, Eoghan, etc., were wonderful.
The sex was kinda nice but the story did kind of drag. Very close to 400 pages was just to many pages to try and fill without it starting to drag and become boring.

As to the narrator: I like to read along and this narrator was ok. The female voices were nice but he didn't have an ounce of emotion in his words. And that's important to me.

I did like Jasper and really liked Katherine. Where he was so afraid and negative she was so positive and unafraid of anything when it came to them. That is, until she’d had enough sense to get tired of hearing about Lydia and left him, which I don’t blame her for. I know I was tired of hearing about her. I really am tired of so much angst in books, page after page, going on and on for 300 or 400 pages.
The book did have some nice sex in it but the book itself needs to have less angst. One reviewer said this, “The romance was overshadowed by the first wife,” and I couldn’t agree more. The story was dragged out way too long to make it a five star read. You can only read how much he loved Lydia, how guilty he feels about Lydia, how he misses Lydia, how beautiful Lydia was, before you’ve had enough.
A good read, but I'm not so sure I'd read this author again because of the incredible amount of angst she puts in her books. Doubt I could go through it again with Anne.

As to the narrator: She did an excellent job on the voices. I would definitely listen to her again. Not much emotion in her reading but I can overlook that as long as the men sound like men.

This has to be the worst male narrator I've ever listened to. He reads like a robot, his voice the same no matter what he reads. And when Rachel spoke she sounded exactly like a man. When I listened to the sample there was never a woman and now I know why. This narrator has a nice voice but until he learns to read correctly I will never listen to him again. I have to wonder what kind of reader people are looking for that they would give this one 5 stars. How can you give a narrator 5 stars when the women sound just like HIM? I through listening and I'm only at 9%. I was done when Rachel said her first few words and sounded just like a man.

The female narrator is just terrible. When Gideon talks his voice is her's. She doesn't even attempt to sound manly. And the male has a beautiful, low and sexy voice but his women's voices suck. What is the point of having 2 narrators if they do both voices. I'm so disappointed. I'm turning this back in for a refund. I'll just read the rest of the book.
    Bummer!

    Reclaimed
I was telling myself all through this story that I wasn’t going to like the end because as a banshee she was already dead. But I continued on and I’m so glad I did. What a great little story. You couldn’t help but love Katriona, even as she tried again and again to kill Rory while she also desired him. I did like Queen Cliodnah. And Lorne was really kind of funny, he was just no capable of talking quietly. I was sooo glad that they didn’t go to the stable for “straps and whips and whatever apparatus may catch our fancy,” until the very last two pages. Their one sex scene was very, very nice and I didn’t want it ruined with whips and other crap. 5 stars.

    Redeemed
Another great story. This time about Kylah and Daroch. It was a very nice story but I’m sure glad Daroch finally washed and stopped putting that mud all over himself. Nothin’ appealing in that. Some nice sex in this but no sexual tension to speak of. And, boy, again that Queen Cliodnah and her killing minion Ly Erg were really something. So, the next one is the last one and I can’t wait for Kamdyn’s story. 5stars

    Reluctant
I was beginning to think that this book was only going to have Soren and Kamdyn as the only players, it went on so long with just the two of them. And I really wouldn’t have minded, either. Their conversations and were quite funny and entertaining. LOL.. Kamdyn wasn’t much of a killer. And the MacLauchlan’s turned out to be a little less than blood-thirsty (and Lindsay was pretty smart.) I wasn’t crazy about their first sex scene because it was so violent but I could overlook it because it was such a cute story. It was nice to see Rory and Daroch again. 4 stars.

I got this book free with my KindleUnlimited but I would have gladly paid for it.

As to the narrator: He was a good reader. Good with the men’s voices but truly sucked with the women’s voices. He really needs to, also, do more than just read the book. He has no emotions to speak of and that’s important for a narrator. IMO..

I would like to know what the other 2 reviewers of this book are looking for in a narrator that they would give her 4 and 5 stars? Every single person, man or woman, sound just alike! Just like the narrator. So, when the sex comes about you can only hope they don't say a word because you won't know who's talking, the man or the woman. I gave this book 3 stars because I'm not finishing it, on audible. I'll just read it. Ms. Huber would never be someone I'd ever care to listen to again.

LOL... I'm sure in a day or so I'll have 2 or 3 "not helpful" votes and that will probably be Ms. Huber herself or her friends and family and that's ok. AUDIBLE is where one reviews the narrator, not the book, that's done on Amazon.

This was a good story but it was waaay to long. I don't read books without sex but Ms. Eden seemed to think it was necessary to fill page after page with sex. That's really not a good filler. So, I can't see myself reading any more of the Night Watch series. I read Scream for Me, Fear for Me and Die for Me and I loved those books by this author but this one, not so much.
I did like Jude and Erin. And the secondary characters were a great addition: Zane, Dee, Tony. Lee and Ben. I really had no idea who the bad guy was so I was completely shocked to find out.
There was some good sex in the book, at least, the first two encounters, and sexual tension but I just think there was a little too much. You could take 100 pages from this book and it would have been better.

As to the narrator: Ms. Eby did a fantastic job on the voices but her emotions are way off. Oh, she whispered when the book called for it but when someone was YELLING at someone else to "RUN!" she whispered the word "RUN." Fortunately, there wasn't too much YELLING going on so I didn't have to roll my eyes that much when she whispered.

So, 5 two stars and 52 four and five stars on Amazon.. Go figure..
As with ALL the Mackenzie books, except Daniel's story that I haven't gotten to yet, I simply loved this story. Loved Steven and Rose, what an awesome twosome. And it was nice seeing Ian, Beth, Ainsley, Cam, and Sinclair, even if it was them having lines in the book or just a mention that they were there. Wonderful storyline and some great sexual tension and sex. You just can't go wrong with the Mackenzies and McBrides.
Just ignore the lower reviews cuz I highly recommend this read..

As to the narrator: Ms. Dawe gets better with each book she reads. As with a lot of the female narrators all her men sound almost alike but at least they sound like men. All she needs to do is work on her emotions and she'll be an awesome narrator.
