Action, romance, loyalty
The most memorable moment for me did not come from either of the leads but from Damien's best friend Jasmine. Her methods in the last fight scene of the book were priceless! I don't want to give away too much but I am looking forward to reading Jasmine's story in 2 more books!
More distinction between the male characters, they all sound the same.
When Damien first rescues her and though he does not know the consequences to himself, he does what is in his nature to do to save her.
I am really enjoying the ongoing stories in this series and look forward to the stories to come. So far, Damien has been my favorite story but then the books are so good I tend to say that after each one I read in this series.
I really enjoyed the story. Ann is not as strong as I thought she would be but she grew into her strength. Considering all she was hit with at once I suppose it would take her a bit. The premise of the story is good and it is fast moving, which I enjoy. I will definitely be downloading the rest of the series!
An all around great listen! I love the characters and look forward to listening to the rest of the series!
From start to finish all I could think was this book was the written version of V, the TV series. I love Ms. Singh's Archangel series but she fell short with this book, I will not be reading anymore of the V...I mean Psy series.
It took me quite a while to get through the first half of this book. If I sat down to listen, I fell asleep every time. The story was very slow to build and the narrator seemed to drone on without much distinction between characters. The 2nd part of the book was a bit better but still seemed very slow. I liked the concept well enough that I am going to give the 2nd book in the series a chance to see if perhaps it picks up. After reading all the reviews comparing this to the Blackdagger Brotherhood I decided to try this series. So far I am disappointed but will see how the next book goes.
I was so excited to for this book as I had followed Mac's story from the beginning. Two days after finishing this book I'm still feeling like WTH? After 19 hours you find that Ms. Moning can use a lot of words and say absolutely nothing or repeat things she has said over and over from the first book. This is a problem that a lot of authors run in to, they want to write a series of books but then feel the need to try to make each book in the series stand alone and immerse themselves in back story from the previous books to where the loyal listeners get sick of the repetition. These books cannot be read stand alone and the author ruined the series by trying to make them so. After 19 hours, you would think that all the story lines would have been resolved...you would think. I give it three stars for the story in between all the gibberish but agree with so many who have said editing is a wonderful tool that should be used.
I enjoyed this book, it answered questions and actually posed some more. With the creatures discussed I am wondering what Ms. Feehan has in store for the Carpathians. The narration did not bother me at all.
I really enjoyed this story, it was so good to catch up with all of the couples I have come to care for. I laughed out loud, I cringed and I celebrated with this family that Ms. Feehan has made me a part of. By touching on stories past and giving a taste of stories to come, Skylar and Mary Ann in particular, I thought she did a wonderful job of interlinking past, present and future. This is the first time we get to experience a Carpathian male going through the awkward stage of teen to man and I hope to see more of the growing pains of the younger ones. I am looking forward to the stories of the next generation of the Carpathians.
The narrator did not pronounce everything the way they have been pronounced in other books but then I look at a narrator as I do the lead actors in plays changing. Not every actor plays a character exactly the same and not every narrator is going to narrate a book exactly as the ones before have. He did a fine job of evoking the emotions and feelings of each character and I enjoyed listening to him. I do have to admit I tend to fast forward through some of the more graphic sex scenes because it does make me a bit uncomfortable having a man read them to me but that is my personal feeling.
I love this series and agree this book is one of the better books. Only complaint I have is the over use of the phrase Time and Space.
