I don’t really know what made me download this book to begin with, but I am glad I did. It is an interesting idea based loosely on Cinderella. Just remember it is a YA book.

At first this book was slow and I was annoyed by the narration, however the farther into the book I got I started to enjoy it and the narration did not bother me as much. I am not rushing out to get the next two books, but I will mostly get to them once my current list is done.

As part of a ruthless program by the totalitarian government, ninth-grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food, and various weapons. Forced to wear special collars that explode when they break a rule, they must fight each other for three days until only one "winner" remains. The elimination contest becomes the ultimate in must-see reality television. A Japanese pulp classic available in English-language audio for the first time, Battle Royale is a potent allegory of what it means to be young and survive in today's dog-eat-dog world.

I really was not impressed by the writing in this book, It did not flow well and jumping to all the different points of view was at times hard to follow. I had to force myself to finish it only because I don’t like leaving things unfinished. I did like the fact it was a bit more auctioned packed and mature that HG just wished it flowed better and the character’s speech felt more realistic

It is a great series, if you liked the first one you’ll like this one. Fair warning there are a lot of parts where you may get mad at what is happening/decisions being made. There were tons of “what is she/he thinking” and “seriously” moments. When my sister was reading it she text me every time she got mad at one of the characters choices, I got lots of text.

Don’t be fooled by the Divergent or Hunger Games comparison. The only thing these have in common is that they are dystopian novels. This story is told from two points of view; however it is very hard to tell the difference in the two characters. They are both written the same. I found it very hard to make myself finish the book. It was very forced and did not flow at all!
