Love the story. Loved the narrator. And wow, did the author hit the nail on the head with the denial hammer. Thank you for many wonderful, entertaining hours.
(Note: if you are a 50+ female - lucky you. This book will ring many bells.
Don't get me wrong...Billy Crystal's standup is great, but when the first chapter (very funny) was done with an audience and more as a standup routine, I almost didn't go on. I was so disappointed. I wanted a story, not a routine.
And then it happened. I went on with the book to find myself interested, entertained, and surprised by Billy's life, ethics, and personal insights. I couldn't wait to listen to more.
The problem with Billy is he makes everything look so easy. That's what incredibly talented people do. And therefore you take him for granted. I was reminded of his amazing body of work and have a whole new respect for a man who is about giving and loving and entertaining.
Thank you Billy, for many wonderful hours with you.
I love it when I think I know where I'm headed only to be yanked a different direction like a roller coast turning a sharp blind corner.
Never wanted to stop listening. Great winding path of a story with satisfying depth to each character.
I have no idea how a different narrator could have pulled this book off as well Ms Ronconi. She was perfection. This story was so fun!
Rob Lowe offers a parallel perspective of my lifetime. The curtain is pulled aside and you see the reality of the Great Oz.
