Would you listen to The Shining Girls again? Why?

I will listen to it again and I am looking forward to it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I started listen to audible books back and forth to work. So I was not just wasting this time. I found myself not wanting to get out of the car, wanting to hear more of this story.

  • God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything

    Story

In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

"Mr. Hitchens makes his point very well."

What did you love best about God Is Not Great?

I really liked ever thing about this book. Mr. Hitchens is highly intelligent and it comes though in his writing.

What about Christopher Hitchens’s performance did you like?

When he comes to a part of the book that is part of his past. He tells not as if he was reading it but as if he was just telling you the story and how it unfolded.

    Any additional comments?

As I said Mr. Hitchens was a highly intelligent man and this comes across easily in his writing. But you also hear it in his voice, a confidence in his voice. I love hearing him read.

Discover magazine recently called Richard Dawkins "Darwin's Rottweiler" for his fierce and effective defense of evolution. Prospect magazine voted him among the top three public intellectuals in the world (along with Umberto Eco and Noam Chomsky). Now Dawkins turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes.

If you could sum up The God Delusion in three words, what would they be?

    Intelligent,helpful,truthful

What about Richard Dawkins and Lalla Ward ’s performance did you like?

I love to hear an author tell thier story. The way they wrote it. this is what Richard Dawkins and Lalla Ward did and it makes it so much better.

    Any additional comments?

I bought this book in paper back, so that I could read it at work. But about half way I found it on here. I then started listen in the car just when I was driven and before long I was bring it in the house just so I could hear more. I didn't plan on like it this much.
