Once again, Kinsey Millhone, America's favorite female P.I., embroils herself in a complex and entertaining Alphabet Murder Mystery. When Wendell Jaffe, mastermind of a real-estate scam, disappeared at sea, no body was found. Now, five years later, he's declared legally dead, and California Fidelity has to pay up on his life insurance policy to the tune of half-a-million dollars. Soon after, the tune slides off-key when Jaffe is spotted in Mexico and Fidelity hires Kinsey Millhone to sort things out.

Would you try another book from Sue Grafton and/or Mary Peiffer?

Never Mary Peiffer!!!!!! She totally put me to sleep.

What could Sue Grafton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Please don't have Mary Peiffer perform any more of Sue Grafton's books. Judy Kaye is the only Kinsey I want to hear. Had I realized that it wasn't her performing this audio book, I would not have purchased it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mary Peiffer’s performances?

I have no desire to try any of her performances. I know that may sound harsh because it's the first time I've experienced her performance, but it just turned me off.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I honestly don't know. I only made it through the first 2 chapters, and with great difficulty. I couldn't tolerate Mary Peiffer's character-less (don't think that's really a word) voice. That doesn't happen very often, and it's never happened to me with ANY of Sue Grafton's books until this one.

    Any additional comments?

Judy Kaye is the only performer that I think brings this series to life. I can tell you honestly, that I will not purchase any other audio books of this series unless she is the one performing.

What made the experience of listening to Foreign Body the most enjoyable?

Really enjoy the narrator. He gives all the characters personality.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Stapleton is always my favorite. His character and personality are down to earth and real.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Crisis and Critical. I enjoyed both of them as well. Crisis is my favorite then Foreign Body. I was disappointed that Jack was not more involved in this story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No. Just a great listen.

    Any additional comments?

I agree with one of the other ratings that stated it's nice to listen to a book that isn't filled with profanity.
