For Australians, Kokoda is the iconic battle of World War II, yet few people know just what happened and just what our troops achieved. Now, best-selling author Peter FitzSimons tells the Kokoda story in a gripping, moving story for all Australians.

Author of the National Book Award-winning All the Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy is one of the most provocative American stylists to emerge in the last century. The striking novel Blood Meridian offers an unflinching narrative of the brutality that accompanied the push west on the 1850s Texas frontier.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Meridian to be better than the print version?

Richard Poe what can I say, did Cormac create this voice?

What did you like best about this story?

Words, starkness, deserts, connection and disconnections, lean characters, reality it is so different than any other book that I have read or listen to that I am now at odds with what I will read or listen to next.

What about Richard Poe’s performance did you like?

Poe's voice creates images in your minds eye that are so real that you feel as if you are watching the story happen.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Sin duda

Dancing at the Rascal Fair by National Book Award nominee Ivan Doig captures the passion and tenacity of turn-of-the-century immigrants struggling to build new lives amidst Montana’s windswept Rockies. The tale unfolds into a contest of the heart between Anna Ramsay and Angus McCaskill—kept apart by obligations—as they and their stormy kin vie to tame the brutal land.
