As a member of the U.S. Military I have read many books about wars. I find that Mr. Atkinsons books draw you in and hold you to the words. The insights and little facts about the key players are great it brings them to life. I can hardley wait for the next book.

ARMY AT DAWN AND THE DAY DAY BATTLE
I highly recommend that anyone who wants to read about WW II read these three books. He writes in a style that tells how it is from all levels from the private that see's the armies follys but still must follow orders to the General that see his orders get switched around in the fog of war. Full of little know facts and stories that keep you wanting more.
If I could encourage friends and family to read one book this is it. While listening to this book I found that if I were in walmart or target I would look around and tell myself look at all this stuff or all this food. I took stock of my own supplies at home and recommited to a one year supply of everything. I looked at my children in a new light and was thankful that they are healthy. I asked my Soldier's to read this book and take it to heart. I am a single father so I could relate very well with book. A Must read...
I had read "South" prior to this. Together I feel I have a complete view of there dire situation. Very hard to stop listening, somedays I had to take the "long" way home.
