Phil Gordon plays poker with the best players in the world. He has won, and lost, in tournaments and cash games around the globe, all the while studying the game and learning from every hand dealt. It's a tough game. But anyone can become a winning player with the right amount of courage, patience, aggression, observation, and, perhaps most important, dedication to becoming a better player.

I found the book to be very helpful and surprisingly interesting, I say that because I'm not a big fan of Phil Gordons. The book was very informative, had a great pace. I recommend it.

  • Annie Duke: How I Raised, Folded, Bluffed, Flirted, Cursed, and Won Millions at the World Series of Poker

Part poker strategy, part autobiography, Annie Duke provides a fascinating inside account of the World Series of Poker and tells the riveting tale of Duke's unlikely rise to poker's inner circle. Highlighting strategic tops and keen hand-by-hand analysis that will appeal to both the skilled player and the reader newly intrigued by the game, Annie Duke shares a unique table-side view of a game that's fast evolved into a subculture.

    "Not much help"
    Overall

I like Annie Duke, but I found the book to be quite boring and not much help to me. There seemed to be several instances where she was just filling space with descriptions of the top poker pros and her personal life.
