The story was great, and the narration was enjoyable. I enjoyed all aspects of the trilogy and feel sad that there's not a 4th book to read in this series.
The story line and narration were both complementary of one another. I enjoyed this story and am eager for the final book of the trilogy.
I had never heard of Sarah Grimke before this book, and I now want to know more about her. Her story could have been told well even from her singular perspective, but it was blended beautifully with the story of Hettie that took this story up several notches. The narration was a bonus to sharing these ladies' perspectives in a convincing way.
Inspirational, Motivational, and I can't narrow it down to three words! Jenn lovingly takes us on her journey of self-evaluation and testing, and she provides enough knowledge behind her decision making to give her reader a beginning knowledge base about each topic. She is candid in her struggles, and that inspires me to join her in evaluation of my lifestyle and in decreasing Self so that Christ can increase within me.
Maybe it was the fact that this was an auditory mode of reading the story, but I found it difficult to keep the stories straight while driving. I listened to this book on a long road trip, and I sometimes had difficulty transitioning between all 4 stories and remembering what had occurred in a particular story line earlier in the book. In the end, though, it wrapped up nicely. Maybe I could follow it better in cinema as I could attach a character's face to their story.
I enjoyed the novel, and the narration was very complementary rather than distracting.
The story isn't predictable, and I found myself interested in the characters' story.
This has been one of my favorite reads. The twists and turns in this novel are jaw-dropping.
This book did not grab me at first, but I stuck with it and ended up enjoying the story.
I was drawn into the story and really enjoyed the story line and narration.
I felt wrapped into the story and eager to find out the secret
I gave this book 5 hours of my life hoping the story would pick up. I am uncertain if it was the narration or the story line, but I could not engage.
