In Gods at War, Kyle Idleman, best-selling author of Not a Fan, helps every believer recognize that there are false gods at war within each of us, and they battle for the place of glory and control in our lives. What keeps us from truly following Jesus is that our hearts are pursuing something or someone else. While these pursuits may not be the “graven images” of old, they are in fact modern day idols. Behind the sin you’re struggling with, the discouragement you’re dealing with, the lack of purpose you’re living with is a false god that is winning the war for your heart.

If you could sum up Gods at War in three words, what would they be?

    ENLIGHTENING+POWERFUL-FUNNY

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't really have a favorite character. I enjoyed them all.

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?

I didn't really have a favorite. I believe he did a great job reading the book with great expression and timing!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    "THE FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFETIME!"

    Any additional comments?

Kyle Idleman has a uniquely kind way of saying, "NO MORE GAMES! Are you a "Christian" OR Not!" I really enjoy his teachings God has really "Blessed" him to be a "Successful" communicator and teacher. If you read the book you will understand why I emphasized "Blessed" and "Successful" :)

Getting older can be brutal: women gain weight, lose their sex drive, experience hot flashes, suffer memory loss, and on and on. After years of being thin and fit and full of energy, Suzanne herself encountered the "Seven Dwarfs of Menopause": Itchy, Bitchy, Sweaty, Sleepy, Bloated, Forgetful, and All-Dried-Up.

Would you listen to The Sexy Years again? Why?

Yes, I already am listening to the book a second time! It's informative, enlightening and I love that Suzanne is reading it herself. It makes it feel more personal.

Suzanne of course. I love it that she is sexy and smart!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES!

I wish her book I'm Too Young for This was in audio form. I would buy it in a minute!

Pastor Kyle Idleman doesn't just want to be a fan of Jesus, he wants to full heartedly commit to him and be a follower of Jesus. But how can you make the leap from fan to follower? In Not a Fan Idleman uses biblical examples to show how the people who met Jesus also had to decide if they were fans or followers, and what it meant for them to then become followers.

Author Matthew Robert Payne says: "I am a follower and not a FAN"
