Andrew Yancy - late of the Miami Police and soon-to-be-late of the Monroe County sheriff’s office - has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing). But first - this being Hiaasen country - Yancy must negotiate an obstacle course of wildly unpredictable events with a crew of even more wildly unpredictable characters.

What did you love best about Bad Monkey?

The wacky characters! They all are whacked out crazy but in different ways.

Which character – as performed by Arte Johnson – was your favorite?

He does characters so well that it would be difficult to pick a favorite. He gave each character a voice of their own.

The riveting debut work from celebrated newcomer Lish McBride, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer drops a seemingly average boy into the adventure of a lifetime. Sam can’t complain about much, even if his job isn’t the most glamorous one around. But his world gets a whole lot more complicated when he crosses paths with Douglas, a necromancer who gets paid to raise the dead. Douglas thinks Sam might have the right touch for necromancing, and when this turns out to be all too true, Sam faces unimaginable dangers.

Would you listen to Hold Me Closer Necromancer again? Why?

I have listened to this book three times now. I like it that much.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hold Me Closer Necromancer?

Sam's quick wit. He has one heck of a mouth on him, not in a bad way, but in a quirky gets him in trouble kind of way. It's actually quite endearing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed many times and people walking by probably thought I was nuts.

Cassel comes from a family of curse workers people who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, by the slightest touch of their hands. And since curse work is illegal, they'e all criminals. Many become mobsters and con artists. But not Cassel. He hasn't got magic, so he's an outsider, the straight kid in a crooked family. You just have to ignore one small detail - he killed his best friend, Lila, three years ago

What did you love best about White Cat?

Story was original and Jesse narrating had me hooked.

What was one of the most memorable moments of White Cat?

That would give too much away, so instead I will just say that I enjoyed the big reveal.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it in one sitting. I actually listened to it while cleaning, I was a little happier while I worked.
