The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

Would you try another book from Vince Flynn and/or George Guidall?

    Yes

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Decent story with some thought-provoking suggestions for when the excrement hits the rotating blades. For this reader - not a page burner.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    probabaly not

    Any additional comments?

Am a little troubled about this whole zombie thing (and this has nothing to do with this author or story). Why the repeated "zombie" drills by so many local, national and now, international gov'ts? Military exercises against large numbers of unarmed civilians? Hmmm?

When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory, a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election. To verify the authenticity of the find, the White House calls upon the skills of intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic scholar Michael Tolland, Rachel travels to the Arctic and uncovers the unthinkable.

    Story
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The suspense build points are needlessly drrrraaagggeeedd on with much non-contributory dialogue.

What did you like best about this story?

The science is crediable and really adds to the story.

What didn’t you like about Richard Poe’s performance?

Poe did well but the technical aspects of the recording were poor. The sound engineer should have filtered out the swallowing and dry mouth moistening sounds. (Although, were I the narrator - I would be doing the same with such a long reading project).

Did Deception Point inspire you to do anything?

Look at reader reviews with more skepticism

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to renewed and invigorated efforts
