Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness - until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

Have read all the other books in this series, and still interested in the ongoing story. Wasn't disappointed in this book, which was very refreshing, since I have been let down by so many other series novels lately. This book is based around Lothaire, and acquiring his Bride, but really gives a lot of background explaining what makes him tick. Nix plays a role in this book, as she has the others, which gives us more information on the assention.
I just love the Valkeryie anyway. The narration could have been better, Lothaire sounded very old, compared to Elizabeth, but I got used to it. All and all, was still an interesting ongoing story in the series, so looking forward to the next.

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Burned picks up right where the surprising conclusion of Iced left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

I felt Mac and Baron's story was finished with the last Fever book, and "Iced' was to be a spin off series that would wrap around different characters (Dani, Riodan, Dancer, and Christian). I loved "Iced" and developed a big soft spot in my heart for Dani, that I never had in the Fever books. I was disappointed in this book, with the path chosen for Dani and the small part she played. Basically, this was a Mac book (which isn't a bad thing) in itself, but I felt it ruined "Iced", and the kid that stole the show.

James Stark, aka Sandman Slim, has managed to get out of Hell, renounce his title as the new Lucifer, and settle back into life in L.A. But he also lost the Qomrama Om Ya, an all-powerful weapon from the banished older gods. Older gods who are returning and searching for their lost power. The hunt leads Stark to an abandoned shopping mall - a global shopping paradise infested with Lurkers and wretched bottom-feeding Sub Rosa families, squatters who have formed tight tribes to guard their tiny patches of retail wasteland.

Love these amusing characters with their rough talking banter. The narrator has them down to a 'T', never disappointing, with the mad cap stories of Heaven and Hell, and all that lies between.

A wonderfully told ending to the Odd Thomas series. David Aaron Baker makes Odd come to life again in this tale, that recounts all the other adventures and pulls the links together, as Odd returns home to fight his final battle against evil. His old friends come back in to this story to help, along with some new allies. Our hero boy is as humble and lovable as ever, while he endures the pain of killing his foes, becoming once again the saintly soldier for 'good'.

What do you do after you’ve escaped Hell, gone back, uncovered the true nature of God, and then managed to become the new Lucifer? Well, if you’re James Stark, you have to figure out how to run Hell while also trying to get back out of it... again. Plus there’s the small matter of surviving. Because everyone in Heaven, Hell, and in between wants to be the fastest gun in the universe, and the best way to do so is to take down Lucifer, a.k.a. James Stark.

Sandman Slim is now Lucifer, getting bored with Hell and all the politics. Demons are still trying to kill him there, so he has to sneak out to have any life at all. He escapes back to home and finds out there have been a lot of changes. Great narration of all the characters help to make this series so interesting, with its warped sense of humor that will keep me coming back for more.

I've listened to all the series in order, with James Marsters narration. James Marsters is Harry Dresden in my mind. I was not paying attention when I bought and downloaded Ghost Story, then was unpleasantly surprised to hear a switch in narrators. John Glover did an excellent job, if you weren't so used to James Marsters. So, I can only give this one 4 stars overall, thinking the story was most likely 5 stars.
Harry does a lot of reminiscing throughout the book, catching everyone up on his past life, while he faces an uncertain future, since his death. Kinda like Scrooge, we see his past, then how his actions have affected the people left behind. A good story.

Wow! Talk about changes, that's putting it mildly. This book ends with a whole new ballgame. It starts out with a bang, when Harry learns he and Susan have a daughter, that's been kidnapped. He's struck with all kinds of emotions about being left in the dark for 8 years, but has to put them aside when he begins the quest of rescuing the child.
Gathering aide from most all the endearing characters from the previous episodes, Harry is on a life and death mission, that costs him more personally than we've ever seen thus far. Long held secrets are revealed, deals with the most evil are made, and life changing events happen, not only for Harry, but others close to him.
This one leaves you thankful "Ghost Story" is out there on the shelf, because waiting for the next book would be excruciatingly painful.

How do you solve the mysterious death, when the body is found in a locked and bolted room (from the inside). Sean Duffy tries to find the answer in order to bring him closer to an IRA bomber that has escaped from prison. As usual, the novel is loaded with unique characters, read with perfection by Gerard Doyle. Sean has his problems with being accused of a crime he did not commit, then finds himself going down memory lane when his newest assignment is to find an old acquaintance intent on killing the Prime Minister.

In Sandman Slim Stark came back from hell for revenge. Once again all is not right in L.A. Lucifer is back in Heaven, God is on vacation, and an insane killer mounts a war against both Heaven and Hell. Stark’s got to head back down to his old stomping grounds in Hell to rescue his long lost love, stop an insane serial killer, prevent both Good and Evil from completely destroying each other, and stop the demonic Kissi from ruining the party for everyone. Even for Sandman Slim, that’s a tall order. And it’s only the beginning.

This is the third of the series, and Sandman is back in Hell trying to rescue his old girlfriend and be done with Mason. The full cast is there from the previous books, so read these in order to get the full effect. I really enjoy all the anti-hero, hero stuff, with the gruff attitude and colorful characters. MacLeod Andrews seems to grow on you from book to book. The harsh edgy voice seems to suit Sandman along with the rest of the cast.

James Stark, a.k.a. Sandman Slim, crawled out of Hell, took bloody revenge for his girlfriend’s murder, and saved the world along the way. After that, what do you do for an encore? You take a lousy job tracking down monsters for money. It’s a depressing gig, but it pays for your beer and cigarettes. But in L.A., things can always get worse. Like when Lucifer comes to town to supervise his movie biography and drafts Stark as his bodyguard.

This second installment continues with Sandman Slim contracted to kill a vampire, leading him in to another mysterious quest. He ends up with a talisman unknowing it's purpose, but finds it could have major consequences for the city. Lucifer comes to Hollywood to make a movie, hiring Sandman as his bodyguard, leaving Sandman suspicious of his motives. The narrator does an excellent job portraying Lucifer, as well as the rest of the cast. Doc and Candy are on the run, another mystery for Slim to figure out, along with zombies showing up with a chomping agenda. Nonstop story, never boring.
